Such studies have been around for quite some time. It particularly interesting to check studies that compare percentages of people espousing theistic notions between regular populations and groups dedicated to heavy intellectual pursuits (the premier members of their scientific fields, for instance).

The problem with all of this is that part of the accepted "affirmative action" phenomenon has become the equation of intelligence with human value. Somehow, people are just supposed to automatically be treated as "smart", just for being alive, because it's so closely tied with human worth.

No one likes to be told they are iffy in the intellectual department or are prone to making stupid decisions or are prone to keeping malformed decision-making methods, true. But people treating these studies as some "put down" are missing the forest for the trees. Humans of all intelligence levels still deserve the same freedoms.

Maybe if we didn't treat our species as being entitled to be called smart when we aren't we might actually advance our collective intelligence along a little quicker and a little better. As it is, though, we are rewarding intellectual apathy.

Peer reviewed and genuinely scientific studies aren't dead just via someone's wishful thinking.

If you want to suggest that the OP is, by starting this thread, suggesting theists or conservative thinkers are somehow less worthy of civil liberties or rights because of the facts wrought from the study, then maybe you have a point, but otherwise there really isn't anything to contest.

The results of the study have been replicated and determined for quite some time.

No...I am saying, if this study is true, then the intelligence of atheists is inferior to conservatism and religion when it comes to the power and reality of this world.

And if this is true then according to Darwin atheists will disappear as an inferior offshoot of the human race.

Sounds silly huh…well so does the premise of this thread and this is the point I am making.
