I think most of it is the latter. There are very few people here who don't like PA. He's one of the nicest, most decent people on the site. I think most of the people who hound him about his meds have made it fairly clear they're worried about the guy.

I really don't think people should delete insulting posts after they're made. That sets a really dangerous precedent. Far better to do what Moonhead has done and own your words, as opposed to trying to disclaim responsibility for them.

Perhaps it isn't my place to have done so....but like others are stating it was not done,in any instance out of any malice....none at all!

How is it a dangerous precedent? Make a post....regret it...delete it...person it was about isn't hurt. I've done it myself.

Agreed. An hour is more than enough time to decide something was a bit too low, no matter how funny it is.

Of course, I caught one of this particular posters ideas of a "joke," recently, before the mods deleted it and he's on the zero tolerance list now.

If you are truly concerned about someone that way send a private cmail, and don't pile onto someone publicly as a group. According to PA he doesn't FEEL like you've been trying to help him, at all.

Ok...I want to make an exception to my post on insulting people....I have found the one person I would like to insult....and I would truly mean it!...No, not Sanity, my thoughts on Sanity remain the same....but, there is this one total idiot not to be named who wishes to feed "libs" to gators, can't spell MacArthur while telling everyone else how right he is and how wrong the rest of the world is. And I was going to post this there, but I agree with you. It scares me because he's threatening people, from the President to many of us. Further, I worry that we're feeding it. It seems to me he's dangerously close to a psychotic episode or something.

I wouldn't mind doing away with all of the insults entirely, but on a voluntary basis, and thats a part of why I am as insulting here as I am. I am deliberately trying to drive home a point, anyone can do it so just drop it and lets have some sensible discussions.

I appreciate the hands off attitude we've had from the mods lately, a lot - and I really hope they continue that policy. I hope that the interference in MM's "Sanity" thread was a mere aberration because we're all supposed to be adults here and we should each be fully capable of defending ourselves, and I'm pretty sure that given time and enough rope the worst of the insulting behavior will clear itself out of the system for the most part.

If I had read a post from him that was threatening the president I would report it to those who are charged to protect our leader... because that can't be tolerated... I haven't seen a post from him in which he directly threatened Obama, but I tend to only scan them.

No matter the source he does represent a mindset that has a following. When Stalin recognized that there was no way he was ever going to be able to change the minds of the "aristocracy" he did the only rational thing he exterminated them. Hitler commented extensively on the efficiency of the U.S. government in dealing with their "assimilation" problem with the native Americans. So we can see that this is not just the meandering mind of superannuated delinquent. This is one of the main forms of conquest. Another would be subjugation which of course leaves one with a large population of people who don't like you. We can see the problems that is causing the U.S. in the "sandbox".
I believe it is interesting that a person who cries out for freedom seeks to deny freedom to others both at the micro and the macro level.

Have you tried ignoring the trolls you mention? Because thats all they are. I personaly don't have anyone on block, but there are several whose posts I either never read or that I rarely read.

I used to watch C-Span every morning because Brian Lamb was the host...then 'semi-retired' to Fridays. He was the host who questioned his guests and callers.

C-Span no longer does, so we hear the equivalent of the world is flat and the universe revolves around us. There are no such things as bacteria or viruses we can't even see...that will kill us.

It's this way now all over the net so I describe myself politically as an ultra-moderate, rightwing, revolutionary...pacifist. I read and read and...read some more. Other than my music and pool, I read, listen to and watch what is going to be edifying.

Much of these posts...are no longer that.
