quote:
ORIGINAL: Aneirin The only thing I find irritating when being referred to TOS, is like, where, show me where, as does it never occur that though something may be written down it is not always plain to see for all. I tend when reading instructions to take the literal understanding, but I know there are good writers and not so good writers, how something is explained in writing might not be accurate, so I try to try and read between the lines, to get a general understanding which works for me. As to if that is what was meant, I don't really know. I would prefer if when being scolded for apparently breaching TOS, to be told exactly where, and how, so that I may understand for the future, otherwise it just becomes more confusion. When the mods reference the TOS without referring to the exact passage, they're using their own time efficiently. Personally, I don't understand why everyone cares so much about the literal words in the TOS. The TOS are not black and white rules, but are interpreted by the mods. And even if something was not in the TOS but the mods determined that it damaged the site or other users' experience, I would want them to come forth and ask the offender to stop.
