Its always good to start the day with a nice hearty laugh...

Except for the fact that neo-conservative is an accepted and widely used term.

And the jackass teabaggers were the ones who started calling themselves teabaggers, so I'm just trying to support them.

You didn't respond on point.

But I've learned to expect that.

Yeah, sure. they're all racists, every one of 'em. And they all use poor English, too.

As far as I can tell the whole teabagger movement is based on anger and insults.

Is it so hard to see that they will not be treated seriously by their own actions?

Give it up, rule. You'll take them seriously at the polls. By their own actions.

That may be true, but I seriously doubt it.

What is the likely scenario is that the teabaggers are going to fracture the Republican Party and give an open door to Democrats.

No, because I was too busy mocking you. In all seriousness, those statements are too stupid to  respond too.

There is nothing to say.

Thats why even Pelosi and Obama are trying to make certain overtures to the Tea Partiers, the Democrat's internal polling is giving them some really bad news.

Then there's Scott Brown, of course. The real polls, as well as the Rasmussen and Gallup polls.

To expand on your post Sanity-

It's not just that the OP started with, or contained, an insult; it's that the entire thread was an insult. There was no point to any of it except to try to demean, with doctored "evidence", an entire American movement.

BTW, have you seen the Gallup profile of the "racist" Tea Party movement? 40% Dem/Indy, 75% white (vs. 79% for America as a whole), broad/normal age, income, education parameters. A nice wide cross-section of America, which the Dems are desperate to disparage.

It's just what they do, especially when they're afraid.

I also never mentioned racism.

Read the thread title, Einstein. And the racism card has been so heavily overplayed now that even the ones trying to play it are becoming embarrassed by the tactic.

The smart ones are, at least.

Just imagine, a government in a democracy paying attention to a citizens' pressure group.

Its unheard of! Next you'll be telling me that other lobbies and pressure groups might be listened to.

Its a wonder the government doesnt crack down on them - there must be something in that Patriot Act stuff for this sort of thing, and we know how oppressive these socialists can be.

A mechanic I know says "you can't fix stupid" whenever he's called due to operator error, and that also applies in this case.

FR:

You know, I have a "whole 'nother take" on the misspellings and such of the TEA Party people.

To me, it speaks of the difference between the astro-turfed, elitists lead protests that we've seen from the left over the years, where union members, communists and other anti-capitalists have had most of their pre-made signs pre-printed and prepared for them by small, well organized radicals, compared to the common American who finally just got fed up and take their magic markers in their hands and poured out their hearts discontent.

Compare the grammar and spelling to the members of these forums, for example, to the contents of a professionally prepared site such as the Huffington Post.

The members on the left side of the political equation who spend their time denigrating and belittling the form of the members of the TEA parties instead of the substance, show themselves to be elitists more concerned about telling people what to believe, and less than leaders interested in the democratic ideals of the common man they have always claimed to represent.

Sorry - are you saying that those on the left are better educated than those on the right, or saying that good spelling and grammar indicate a psychopathology towards tyranny, or both, or neither?

I'm pointing out the difference between a true grass roots movement, and astro-turfed, elistist lead movements.

Well, yeah, third party candidates would be a bitch for me. But it hasn't happened yet (save for some disavowed guy in NV who may have been put up to it by Reid), and the closest thing there is to a leader in the movement has spoken against the idea...
Gettin late to file in a lotta places, too, much less start raising money. Maybe it's a bullet we can dodge.

I'll use those insights elsewhere, Firm, unless you demand attribution I think that's quite insightful.

In a bunch of places it is already too late to get the signatures in to even be eligible. Early voting starts in some places in as little as 6-8 weeks.

The gist seems to be towards ridding the Republican party of some of the RINOs by running Libertarians against them in the primaries.

There will be differences between movements according to their age, size and the degree of sophistication I would argue - sophistication coming with age and size since the longer a movement exists the more likely it is that capable leaders and representatives will emerge, and the larger a movement is the more likely it is to include people who are capable. I dont think its related to grass roots, elitist, right or left factors.

This "tea party" is pretty new - I dont think its had the time yet to become as sophisticated as its perceived opponents. Its also not a party as such nor even a unified group from what I can see, but rather individuals and smaller groups expressing a range of dissatisfactions and disaffections.

Morning Ellen, (well afternoon where you are)

I believe what was being referred to is that the Dem party is notorious for bussing in "professional" protesters, mostly union members that are getting paid to be out there with signs paid for by the party or the union itself.

You are absolutely correct about the Tea Party movement, it is not an organized unified group. While there are some folks that are attempting to get it to be a more consolidated force, there are many others that prefer that it stay a grassroots movement with no centralized leadership. Sure there are going to be talking heads that pop up at various events, but that is because many of the issues that forced the upswell are common across the country.

Believe me, I am much happier to see the anger expressed in this manner than the alternative. At least this has the potential to be constructive, while the alternative will only force a tighter grip and more restraints. Most if not all of the folks I have talked to at these events and heard speak at them, preach that this needs to be a peaceful taking back of the country, that our weapons are our voices and our ballots.

As always,
Thadius

Thats why I have to laugh when brain or braniac or whoever says, "the Tea Party says this..." or  "the Tea Party position" is that.
