And Chris Matthews is poing out; "I've never seen language like this in the American press," he said, "referring to an elected representative government, elected in a totally fair, democratic, American election -- we will have another one in November, we'll have another one for president in a couple years -- fair, free, and wonderful democracy we have in this country…. We know that word, 'regime.' It was used by George Bush, 'regime change.' You go to war with regimes. Regimes are tyrannies. They're juntas. They're military coups. The use of the word 'regime' in American political parlance is unacceptable, and someone should tell the walrus [Limbaugh] to stop using it."

But ahhhh... wait a minute Chris...

And domi is a troll......

No surprise in that, or in that Chris Mathews is not smart enough to remember his own words.

And its not just Matthews... the left has been apoplectic since those on the Right started using "regime" in connection with Obama.

So what you have established is that extremists from both ends of the political spectrum spew venomous rhetoric. Those of us in the middle shouldn't be surprised nor should we really care. However, we should be angry that our unbiased free press really isn't afterall.

No... the Manistream media had been using regime for years, talking about Bush 43.. Unless you are calling (admitting) NBC, The New York Times and The Washington Post are Left Wing extremists??????

That was my point. Let the pundits and talking heads spew their venom, but we should expect a higher standard from our press. When the press becomes an extension of either party, it's hardly free, and the people aren't served, are we?

Wow, this Matthews person sounds like an incredibly stupid hypocrite for attacking someone else for using a word in the exact same way he himself used it, the only difference being partisan politics.

Brainiac sub, how is this a "Tea Bagger thread"? Is that just a general insult word for anyone not a partisan democrat?

You're not in the middle, you too in love with spewing that venomous left wing rhetoric to be anywhere near the middle.

You give yourself too much credit, too. How did you kill that thread?

That's the only difference.  And neither party is innocent of the hype they spread. Regime, administration.  I know what they're talking about.  You find it on MSNBC, from Chris Matthews, Keith Olberman, Rachel Maddow (but I like her wit)...to FOX with Beck, Hannity and on Rush's radio station.  We put more credence and defense into their thoughts and opinions, than we do anyone else's.  Why does it matter to anyone that Rush calls this administration a regime.  Why does it matter that Chris Matthews doesn't like it?  Does it surprise anyone that Chris forgot using the word himself when the shoe was on the other foot? None of it surprises me or makes me wonder.  I'm surprised it makes others surprised.

No, I was talking about the other thread "Tea Parties Declare War on the English Language."

When I challenged Sanity to defend his position with facts, the thread kinda died.

And I am not a partisan Democrat. I am an Independent moderate fiscal conservative social liberal. I can easily make enemies on both extreme ends of the political spectrum. The problem is, there just aren't very many far left wing nuts on these forums, or I'd be giving them hell too.

That thread died when I posted this:

http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=3148245

FYI...it's not just the far left who oppose the Tea Party movement. Most moderates oppose it too. Even Republicans are worried that the movement is pulling the party too far right. I gave you a chance to discuss this based on it's merits, and you declined.

With out starting a flame war with you,Sanity...and recalling how many times you have declared yourself to be center-right(center equating to the middle)...how do you type that line to brainiac and keep a straight face?
I mean can't that easily be turned around on you.....don't you spew  venomous right wing rhetoric as a daily exercise?
Or is it a case of only the stuff on the left is actually "venomous"?

Are you suggesting that The New York Times is a centrist or right wing paper?
