It depends on the person for me, not the age - as long as they're legal. That said, I've yet to meet someone younger than me that I'm interested in, and very rarely do I meet someone my age worth dating...so it's older for me :)

So my question where do you draw the line.. Is that line different for play partners vs relationships?

Your question asks about submitting, and of course, I'm not submitting to anyone. I can see, however, the challenge of submitting to someone younger--most girls prefer older dominant partners. But that doesn't mean you should rule it out.

I have dated women up to 16 years older (not a policy, just where it happened to fall), a lot of women near my age, and quite a few younger--yes, even much younger...here, I find 23 to be the lower limit, just for maturity/readiness reasons (though that too is not a policy, just how it has happened).

It comes down to being able to take the girl in hand. Everything else is secondary.

Enjoy life. Not everything has to be forever.

I used to draw the line at 8 years younger. But then I kept getting older and they stayed the same age. I'm pretty sure I'll keep fucking 25-27 year olds as long as they'll have me.

My line is drawn at my children's age. Anyone I see romantically has to be noticeably older then they are or it creeps me out, the oldest son is 28. I've dated 12 years younger than me and while it didn't work between us it wasn't because of the age, I'd do it again. I think I would prefer someone close to my own age, but each person would be on a case to case basis as long as they were noticeably older than my offspring.

I do tend to intuitively associate age with authority, even though I know it's not entirely logical. If I were looking, I would naturally gravitate towards dominant women who were older than me... potentially a lot older. With that said, I could definitely imagine submitting to a younger woman who was very mature, confident and well-grounded. It would probably feel uncomfortable for me, at least at first - but who said submission was supposed to be comfortable anyway?

I wonder if where the line sits for a potential other matter? For example, would my interests match with a Dom who might also be interested in a 25-year-old?

Uh, uh. I don't think so.

DUKE ORSINO
Too old by heaven: let still the woman take
An elder than herself: so wears she to him,
So sways she level in her husband's heart:
For, boy, however we do praise ourselves,
Our fancies are more giddy and unfirm,
More longing, wavering, sooner lost and worn,
Than women's are.

VIOLA
I think it well, my lord.

DUKE ORSINO
Then let thy love be younger than thyself,
Or thy affection cannot hold the bent;
For women are as roses, whose fair flower
Being once display'd, doth fall that very hour.

VIOLA
And so they are: alas, that they are so;
To die, even when they to perfection grow!

Life is a situation where lots of people try to control our actions and tell us what we can't do. Fuck them. Why, in the name of sanity, would you ever, EVER, want to restrict any area of your world when everybody out there in authority is trying to do it for you? Age is an illusion, what matters is that the person is interested in you, honour that interest and treat the people, regardless of their chronoligcal age as indiviuals. Older, younger, in between,  - so what? Why would you discriminate on age? I play with people of all ages and take them as I find them.

WHEN my love swears that she is made of truth,
I do believe her, though I know she lies,
That she might think me some untutor'd youth,
Unskilful in the world's false forgeries.
Thus vainly thinking that she thinks me young,
Although I know my years be past the best,
I smiling credit her false-speaking tongue,
Outfacing faults in love with love's ill rest.
But wherefore says my love that she is young?
And wherefore say not I that I am old?
O, love's best habit is a soothing tongue,
And age, in love, loves not to have years told.
Therefore I'll lie with love, and love with me,
Since that our faults in love thus smother'd be.

I have no older age limit. I'm into older men. Young guys make me feel giggly when they flirt with me, but I can't take them seriously.

Yep. Even at 19, my boyfriend was 36. Jesus he was hot. . Just not kinky enough. I don't know if I have a limit, because at 58 my Man is sexy as hell, so I think I'll keep him. I have seen some very very sexy men though well into their 60's.

The line you draw is based upon achieving a sufficient level of personal happiness without causing unhappiness to others.

You don't draw the line because society wants it somewhere; nor your parents, friends, family, your employer etc.
If you know you are gay, be gay. If know you are a submissive, go for it. If you meet someone who might be your One, don't let a silly thing like age stop you. Of all things age is the least important; it's wisdom, personality and character that counts anyway.

As a local shoemaker used to say: just do it.

A happy medium would be nice...my initial profile seemed to attract Doms who I felt were to old for me...not in physical age but in lifestyle. I made a few changes and now I'm being called closed minded by 21 to 27 year olds... ohhhhh for a youthful mind in a 40 to 50 year old body!

I'm dating someone a few years younger, but if I was just looking to get laid, 21 thats the drinking age here. I think the age of consent in Il here is 17. So I'm way safe.
