excerpt;

The world is falling apart, and the level of suffering of the people of the planet is growing rapidly. The shrinking of the machine tool sector is a harbinger of further collapse, reflecting yet another downshift in manufacturing overall. It is similar in effect to the cutbacks in world shipping, especially the decline in raw materials and semi-finished products. The whole world economy is winding down, and the result will be measured not only in declining levels of goods and services, but in the loss of jobs, the loss of human potential, and in death. A disaster of world-historic proportions is playing out before our eyes. If we are to survive, we must change the way we approach our work. White-collar jobs, which became all the rage during the rise of the post-industrial society, are for the most part not productive, in the economic sense. We have far too high a percentage of our population employed as lawyers, financiers, clerks, and paper-pushers, and far too low a percentage employed in building infrastructure, manufacturing, and the like. What we need is more blue-collar workers, who know how to build things, who know how to make the machinery of civilization work. We need more scientists and engineers, to discover new physical principles and turn those discoveries into technologies to benefit all of mankind. We need to retu/snip

I couldn't fit an ICBM or a boeing in the house, old boy.
Both of my electric guitars were manufactured in the 'States. (I also have a few Parker fountain pens that were made there, but those are all vintage models, so might not count.) I have a lot of books that were printed in the 'States, but I can't be arsed sifting through the American books I have to check which were published in the 'States rather than Canada, particularly if you're just going to tell me I'm wrong and that every book I've ever bought was printed in China, by the zionist conspiracy whichever names I name.

You are correct.

This is the largest transfer of wealth in history.  (or will be)

The redistribution of wealth is not a right... THIS IS A DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC... This is not a welfare state that promises crappy jobs to everybody and taxes everybody to death which is what the liberals are known for. The so called health bill is unconstitutional... the FEDs are way out of bounds as the individual is sovereign to the state and the only authority the FEDS have is that which given to them by the individual states... Yet the Liberals have taken over the schools and no longer teach the truth to the kids... things like Ab Lincoln declared war on the south when they exercised their constitutional right to secede from the Union because the Union (Federal aspect) was not following the Constitution.

Talk about bush? Obama has taken away more freedom and rights than any president in history, Obama has socialized the finance industry with government control, he has also illegally taken control of the auto industry. Non of his actions have been in the least within the constitutional boundaries... In fact, he has still not proved that he is an American (there are dozens of law suits on this issue).

Obama has broken America by putting the US in the greatest level of debt in history!!! Three hundred percent than any other President!!!
Even in the health care bill Obama was putting the forced use of RFID's implanted under the skin... claimed to be used only for medical records. But the lies will not stop there. The Social security was supposed to be in a separate account used only for retirement, the democrats took access of that and raided that for their excess spending... Not one program the Government has created has worked out like they promised because they never intended to follow through on that.

The typical MO for the government is to create a crisis and then jump in like a great savior but you always lose your rights and they take more control of your life each time. All you have to do is open your eyes and research a little bit on your own. Obama and Pelosi are the two worse people in the history of the US that has worked at taking away your rights under the Constitution, the treaty of Paris, and many other documents.

This is my point. Look at all the various blame thrown around in this thread--without supporting evidence.

In this case--we have data. That's no longer blame--it's a cause. A set of policies was tried and failed. They were then repeated in 2000 and failed in the same way, from recession to stock market crash to banking crisis to high unemployment.

The solution is to not repeat the problem. Yet instead, people are attacking the middle policies that took us in the opposite, positive direction.

So we do more of what works, and stop doing what doesn't. We also look at actual data instead of believing hysteria.

The inequity we're discussing here is the growth in the gap between rich and poor during the Reagan years and the repeat of those policies in the Bush II years.

Not redistribution, but policies that effectively depress the economy while allowing those at the top to extract more.

That doesn't mean welfare state. That means equitable policies.

Then look at data instead, as well as the causes and implications of those data.

I don't have any kind of beef with the current moderators, and everyone knows I'm no angel.

I think they're being very fair.

popeye,

That's because

Mexico is the second-largest export market for the United States.

U.S. exports to Mexico include electronic equipment, motor vehicle parts, and chemicals.

Here's a detailed list:
http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/statistics/product/enduse/exports/c2010.html

Canada is our largest export market.

China and Japan are third and fourth.

Isn't China a huge export for us because we ship them the resources they need to produce products we want back to our country?

Well, thank you for the warning. Just exactly how many more of these lies do you plan on telling, or haven't you decided yet?
