I have a clear personal vision of what a Master is all about. That vision is crystallized in the way I live, think and act as Master. I'm curious to see other personal visions from other Masters. What is your philosophy as Master? By what own rules do you live and act? Or do you to prefer to improvise while going along?

Let me make a start here myself with my personal vision. You don't have to agree (or disagree); I'm more interested in your personal vision.
1. A Master should be humble enough to realize that he should be worthy of having a slave.
2. A Master should realize that within a relation the slave is of equal importance as he is.
3. A Master should realize that it will be his responsibility to keep the M/s relation in balance.
4. A Master should realize that he will be responsible of the physical and mental well-being of his slave.
5. A Master should realize that he MUST guide, control, teach his slave.
6. A Master should realize that he must earn the respect of his slave
7. A Master should realize that if he can not successfully control his own life, that chances of controlling his slave's live are close to zero.
8. A Master should never abuse his slave; abusing that what is under your personal protection degrades you from 'Master' to Loser in my eyes.

Ok.. I could go on a long time, but that is not really the issue. The above gives already a clear idea where I stand, what my personal M/s philosophy is.

As said I'm curious to see if other Masters approach the same from an different angle.

I don't know many folks who call themselves "Master" who actually would deserve that title. 

I do know people who talk about being a Man or a Woman or the Leader...

My slave and I are in this for our mutual pleasure, fulfillment, and self-realization, or self-actualization. Anything that does not help/allow us to become more and more ourselves, with each passing day, is to be discarded- including our M/s relationship. The goal is for us to live our authentic lives. To be our authentic selves.

He has a slave creed that I've had him memorize, that he recites daily. My guiding principle as a slave owner is simple: His safety, well-being and happiness are paramount.

It is both of our responsibility to realize if there's something amiss and bring it up for discussion. Emotions are not something he's that good at and often I'll realize there's something wrong before him. So when I do, I bring it up. I don't let days pass while he slowly figures it out.

And Sunny, I knew I loved you for a reason! Another Kipling fan here.

We are adults.  Therefore we are both responsible for keeping our relationship in balance or it is not a relationship.  My mental well being is also my responsibility.  He can help me through a personal crisis, however, in the end it is me who has to keep myself balanced.  I do agree that a Master needs to earn respect, but the slave also needs to earn respect.  In my relationship we both teach each other.  He doesn't do all the teaching and me all the learning.  I have skills that I am teaching to him.  He has skills that he is teaching me.  Our interactions are what keep the relationship going.  It is not the rather one sided relationship of your vision.  It is a living breathing changing adapting relationship with multiple facets which are not all M/s related.

I know that many here will disagree with me, but I dont feel anyone can claim to be a master who is in a vanilla marriage, and is on the internet looking for another.  To me, and I WAS married, and plan to be again, being married - or collared, makes no difference to me, unless both people want both - means you take a vow that includes "foresaking all others".  Your words sound good but your profile states clearly that you are married, and that you are happily married - VANILLA - and yet you seek.  I think some counseling is what you should seek.  I believe someone who is married, and is looking, is not in control of his - or her own house and life, and  should not be wanting  to control or lead another.  My question is where would you be leading a submissive or slave - to "nowhere", or down a path that is clearly a dead end?  and if you are happy married vanilla, why are you here?  

I know the boards are often used for advise and support, and I seldom speak so stridently,  but I honestly get sick of people in a marriage that doesnt work at some intimate and important level, and here they are insisting it DOES work, but  here you  are, looking for some sort of fulfilment.  I am sure I am in a minority of people here with these beliefs.

Aldric, it's considered bad form to paste bits of your profile as threads. It's also poor form to pontificate with the assumption that the rest of us know nothing. Like any place, some of us know a lot, some don't, some will agree with you and others won't.

And I'm laughing at the bit in your profile where you with zero experience in wiitwd offer to set yourself up as a mentor for dominants. Like your one time online experience gives you the chops to mentor others? No, it doesn't.

And does your happily married vanilla wife know about this profile and the online slave search? Because if she doesn't, then your vaunted integrity disappears.

Coming at this from the s side of the slash, it's a relationship, and both are responsible for its maintenance, imo. My emotional well being is, at the end of the day, my responsibility. Clearly communicating my needs and emotions to a partner is very much a part of that.

i see this as less of a "Vision" and more of a "list of traits."

A Vision is what you conceive and want for the overall relationship, as Master. It is a mental image with direction and purpose, as well as some heart-felt content - and on some levels is experiential.

It's like the difference between a vision of a perfect cake - what it will look like, taste, like, etc., vs. the list of ingredients and instructional steps to making that cake.

What you're giving us here is ingredients and instructions. If i may suggest, some more thought needs to go into the overall vision. [;)]


As far as being married, and your wife not knowing.....i don't know, your profile is vague on this point. But i will say that if it is true, you can list as many paragraphs as you like about all the "traits of a Master" in your profile and be lacking the one trait that i see as deepest to the core of a Master, and most important: Integrity.

Aldric... your words read like a bad novel.....

I took the time to read your profile. Frankly.. I was stunned by the lack of authentic introspective awareness of yourself and your situation. Your vision and philosophy speaks flowery words... but your experience show nothing of your ability to grow those flowers in an M/s dynamic.

I can see that most of those that posted are not taking your OP seriously. I suspect that you will disregard these comments (mine included) to be full of disrespect and unworthy for serious consideration. Just has they have disregarded you for your lack of authenticity.

There is a phrase "know thy betters"... I don't think you know them and as such... until you do... I don't expect many will see you with much regard. I would also say.. "know thy limits"... and you clearly do not know those.

I live with two slaves!!! and my vision and philosophy is simple.

"Be true to thy self" & "Do thy will, harm none" After that.... itr's all about Applying it.


and you have been found lacking!

yeah.. that bitch part is why I don't take anyone too seriously thast is overly engaged with the vision & philosophy part. In my experience... with such people... when you pull up the rock you find they lack much with regards to applying it!
