I always took science to be in it's infancy and perhaps might always be in it's infancy, for the existence of gods and goddesses et al might very well be forces and energies as of yet undetectable and there unmeasurable by logical human thought. Until such a time scientists know everything there is to know about everything, only then will I believe their word on anything. Science is theories and proofs that happen to fit those theories, with limited knowledge those proofs might very well be very false or at best, incomplete. Because something is not logical, it is not a reason for something not to exist.
