Apparently some hospitals routinely call security to remove non-family-members from the room: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/05/12/how-hospitals-treat-same-sex-couples/

Tazzy? Were awake and aware patients ever forbidden to see visitors of thier own choosing? Could families ever overide an awake and aware adults patients in terms of treatment or visitors? If it is not previously put in writing, what is the difference of the new Policy?

I really hate the idea of agreeing with real, but what is Obama giving here? A simplified power of Attorney form? That has to be filled out before a crisis?

I seriously have never run into a problem on this in Central PA.  I know it could happen- but most staff is pretty cool and do not want to upset the patient.

Nurses are pretty tuned in to human -needs- and I never seen one that- would on purpose harm someone.
