so what?  I see nothing wrong with it at all.  Why do so many people insist that it is a sign of weakness to be respectful of other cultures?  Many in our country have the opinion that when others come here to visit, work, live that they should fully immerse.  Yet it is wrong for our leader to do likewise?

But a nod would have been better suited.

Sheesh.  What does the natural curve of the upper spine have to do with bowing deeply enough to be able to shine shoes?

And technically what Obama did with the Queen would be closer to a "head bob".

Here's what Obama does when he really bows...

Why would a nod be better suited?  In order to show the world that we are stupid regarding etiquette when in the presence of the Queen?

What?

What does that have to do with one head of state displaying courteous respect to another head of state?

Honestly, PA... are you such a miserable person that you can only look for things to complain about?

What the fuck are you talking about now!?

Honestly, this is getting more and more ridiculous and inexplicable by the moment.

Youre not a former member of Monty Python attempting a career relaunch are you?

That's what Obama had to do to get to the Japanese guy's level...

I think it is always good to err on the side of being respectful to other cultures, it is classy

Yeah- but this was a shoe polishing.

And one person's shoe polishing is another's...well you get where this is going. The fact that he's the U.S. President is neither here nor there. The man showed respect, nothing more nothing less. He is still his own person and has no one to answer to but himself in this case. If he had gone to some other country and met the *Resident Person In Charge* with their form of courtesy and respect, this would not have been an issue.

I'm sure he's got better things to do than worry about whether or not his response upon meeting her was considered correct. There's so much more to be concerned in the world. From kids committing suicide over bullying to the recent China earthquake. Not related in the least, I know, but it covers one small community to a large one. I really couldn't give a flying doughnut who bows or not. He is after all Master-Of-His-Own-Domain. Pun intended.

But at what price are these bows costing you?

Your house?

your job?

your retirement?

You UMs- via the undeclared wars?

and eventually - the camps for some.

No one here is getting any younger.

what an utter load of BS Hunky

Common diplomatic courtesy goes beyond lots of peoples comprehension
which on a BDSM site I find hysterical when said people expect respect in a M/s relationship.

*sighs*  I'm sorry, PA... I just can't think of a kindler and gentler way to say this...

You're an idiot.
