I dont recall MLK doing a letter writing campaign or sitting on his ass at home bitching and moaning on a message board.

Obviously you know very little about MLK.
Are you seriously suggesting that MLK did not write letters to his consituants not only exhorting them to continue but also to seek their input?
As for bitching on a msg board...there was no internet when he was alive or had that escaped your notice?

Yeah, and what does MLK have to do with this subject?

If you would read more than one line of type you might understand. Otherwise your ignorance will continue unabated.

Thompson, if I were going to run for president I'd have you on the ticket for V.P. as "assasination insurance" just like Joe Biden.

No chenny was able to work his puppet without moving his lips.
Bush could not read a menue without moving his lips.

My my how literal you are these days.

MLK wrote letters, and called people, and organized events, and paid politicans many visits. My point was.... the letter writing and bitch session was not ALL he did. Or did that escape your notice?

Now, besides bitching and moaning on a message board that people "dont understand", what are YOU doing about this problem?

Im eager to see what stories you can dream up to prove how liberal you are.

LOL

as i suspected... you are doing nothing. put your money where your mouth is... and your time and energy as well... or shut the hell up. seriously. you are either part of the solution or part of the problem. bitching about how it is and slamming those who do acknowledge how it is, even when its wrong, is hypocritical in the light of doing nothing beyond whining about how wrong it is to admit what the real deal is.

government wont do anything because its the businesses and wealthy who are hiring the illegals. they cant even agree on wall street reform and you want them to actually tackle the job of illegals?

tell me... though i have no doubt you wont answer these questions either.

1) whats your solution besides amnesty?

2) how would YOU get the government to cut their own wrists?

Actually if you had ever read my post for content instead of trying to find something to argue about you would know.:
As a child my family and I road intentionally on the back of the bus in a segregated south.
That I was part of the group of armed men who put James Meredith into "ol Miss" over the objections of gov. ross barnett.
That I belong to the naacp.
That my membership at sncc was canceled because I returned fire at some rednecks trying to burn down their compound outside of beaufort sc.
That my brother in law and step father and two sisters in law are persons of color.
That I have been arrested more than a dozen times for participating in marches and
sit-ins.
If you would like to come for a visit I would be happy to share my photo album with you.

Did you see the part where I suggested that the government enforce the law.
The one that says it is a felony, punishable for the first offense by a fine of $10,000 and/or ten years without parole in the federal slammer for each illegal hired.

2) how would YOU get the government to cut their own wrists?

Perhaps if someone with money, muscle and balls might make a "citizens arrest"

I worked Beaufort Hospital. I lost nothing in that.. city.

You are the one complaining not enough is being done. You do realize its the GOP who isnt working, yet again, towards a resolution on the immigration issue. The party of NO strikes again. This time all because an energy bill was shelved.

Now, i ask you again. How do you get a group of petty, whiney ass politicians who are out for all the booze, sex, power and money they can grab, to actually do their jobs? MLK had the answer.

Not so.

There is little to differentiate the two parties

I answered this in my last post...
Someone with money, muscle and balls needs to do a "citizens arrest".

And how far do you believe this will carry things? Again, this line of thinking is not reality.

Maybe the Attorney General ought to read the statute??

"Congressman Poe:

The law is supported by 70 percent of the people in Arizona, 60 percent of all Americans and 50 percent of all Hispanics, according to the Wall Street Journal NBC poll done just this week. And I understand that you may file a law suit against the law.

It seems to me the administration ought to be enforcing border security and immigration laws and not challenge them and that the administration is on the wrong side of the American people. Have you read the Arizona law?

HOLDER: I have not had a chance to -- I've glanced at it. I have not read it.

POE: It's 10 pages. It's a lot shorter than the health care bill, which was 2,000 pages long. I'll give you my copy of it, if you would like to -- to have a copy.

Even though you haven't read the law, do you have an opinion as to whether it's constitutional?

HOLDER: I have not really -- I have not been briefed yet. We, as I said, have had underway a review of the law. I have not been briefed by the people who have been responsible -- who are responsible for that review.

POE: Are you going to read the law?

HOLDER: I'm sure I will read the law in anticipation of that briefing. I know that they will put that in front of me, and I'll spend a good evening reading that law.

So, Eric Holder criticised the law before he even read it???

dovie -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/13/2010 6:43:34 PM)

Was going to read all 24 pages of this thread and decided not to. In the end, I'll speak with my wallet and boycott Arizona.

This is a better idea than calling a few folks on this thread 'assholes' a la Scarface; although not as therapeautic.

And for those that think my piddly cents don't matter...*laughs

*Sigh, I've always wanted to visit Sedona.  Maybe in a few years.

I think its safe to say that practically everyone who's frothing at the mouth about it is ignorant about whats in it.
