They just had it on the news, he never read the fuckin' Bill!
"I,...I, haven't been briefed yet."
He needs to be fucking "Brieifed?"
I wonder if he's read the federal version of the law?

Sanity -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/13/2010 7:22:33 PM)

He's the Attorney General of the United States. I wonder who he is expecting to come and brief him. Is there anyone who is qualified to read and interpret the ten page bill for him?

And again, we don't see Obama sending Troops down there yet, do we?
If he had all this wouldn't be neccessary!
And people think this college professor is going to be re-elected in 2012 again?
He's not doing the fucking job!

I might argue in favor of giving illegals access to a different status.

tazzygirl -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/14/2010 9:38:01 AM)

A different status? please, do explain.

cloudboy -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/14/2010 2:08:04 PM)

Access to either temporary or permanent status. A such, they could live more openly in the US and pay their taxes, and be able to leave the US without being penalized for it -- as is the case with the current system. Illegals are now barred from reentry into the US for either 3 or 10 years, and this is a huge incentive to remain in the US. If those bans were lifted, many would return to their home countries willingly.

tazzygirl -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/15/2010 2:20:45 AM)

Ah hell, why not just toss out the immigration laws, open our boarders wide, and allow any and all to come on in.

Cloudboy, yeah, and give them all free Cadillacs too! Oh, and free houses! Fuck the U.S. Taxpayers, right?

The single most effective way to end illegal immigration is to punish people who hire illegals.  I don't mean a slap on the wrist and a wink and a fine and "Oh don't do that again and we'll see y'all in church next Sunday okay?"  I mean deport the workers and make the people who hired them (as gardeners, as undocumented domestic help, to work in some sweatshop, whatever) wish to God they'd never even thought about considering hiring an illegal worker.  I mean burn it down and salt the fucking earth.  But nobody is willing to do that.  Do you know why?  Because too many of the people hiring illegals are good God-fearing capitalists who vote, who go to church, who give money to politicians.

I have said this more than once on more than one of these types of threads.  We like to blame gov't...and granted, gov't could do more....but we are our own worst obstacle of getting rid of illegals because we enable them with money to live here and send some back home to their country.

When I hear people repeatedly, over and over, crying about what Obama isn't doing...turning their heads the other way to businesses that hire these illegals because "they couldn't afford to stay in business if they hired people the legal way"...then I guess we set ourselves up for this mess.  And we're setting it up to remain that way, because you can't have it both ways.  You can't get rid of illegals, if you give illegals incentives to be here.  And hiring them illegally just so a business can save a few bucks and deny a citizen of this country a job, is not Obama's fault.

I will go one step further. IF we did not allow illegals to remain... IF we did not allow the hiring of illegals... These companies may fold... or we may find out that they actually have to step up to the line and become fiscally responsible and develop new ways of doing business.

And, trust me, illegals are not laying down on the job and accepting sub-minimum wages. Lawsuits abound... winning lawsuits by illegals.

LOL

we have got to be the ONLY country that awards people for doing something illegal!

Louve00 -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/15/2010 12:35:59 PM)

And Tazzy, since we're bringing this all step by step, I'll add another step lol.  If these thriving businesses will be put out of business because they're fined steeply for hiring illegals, or exempt from tax breaks that they say they need to stay in business, then let them fold.  Let's wipe the slate clean and go back to the right way, instead of the way to "get ahead because we're a business and have a right to be a business"  We've become so twisted in our own logic to succeed, and bitch so much from the result of that twisted greed that its all fucked up.  If someone didn't get the "bright" idea that they could save money from hiring illegals, and that "Bright idea" didn't catch on, both for business and the illegals that come here for that work, things may be a whole lot different today.  And a whole lot more legal today too!

**Editted to add...and it will give the ones who are so against gov't not doing enough to complain about something else gov't won't do.  [8|]

tazzygirl -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/15/2010 12:37:48 PM)

With a whole lot less exploited, hurt and financially depressed.

Its surprising to me that people actually wish to continue to foster such a system instead of correcting the problems, on both ends of the employment line.

Louve00 -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/15/2010 12:39:46 PM)

I doubt its really that surprising to you.  When its coming out of their pockets and profits thats when the logic starts getting twisted and the scales start getting off balance.

Louve, I told our new lawn service's owner that if I were in his business and I found out that my competition was using illegal alien labor I'd rat them out in a New York minute and "I'd" be the biggest lawn service in the area! He agreed.

Louve00 -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/15/2010 12:49:55 PM)

I remember you saying that Popeye, and applauded your attitude for taking the high road (right road).  The problem is so many people don't.  So many illegals continue to work here.  And so many business actually have the gall to threaten and justify how hiring legal citizens would be such a burden on them that they would go out of business.  They take it one step further by crying that it'll lead to more jobs lost and more unemployment.  But lets think of this.  Who would be losing jobs?  And who would be unemployed?  Illegals would.  They wouldn't be able to pay their bills.  They'd become evicted from their apartments.  In essense, they would be driven back to where they came from on their own accord.  It would save us time, money and we'd be rid of businesses who could only stay afloat illegally.

How about the option of actually enforcing the law against employing illegal aliens.
It would put a huge amount of money into the public coffers (hundreds of billions)and remove any incetive to hire illegal aliens.
But then you would not be able to sit at your keyboard and wring your hands in such a sanctomonious fashion about all the illegals.

luckydawg -> RE: The State Senate in Arizona passes new immigration law (5/18/2010 2:07:53 PM)

You have to ask Obama why he refuses to enforce these laws....

And yourself why you are trying to stop Arizona from making them state crimes and enforcing them?

You have read the law, havent you? Your'e not just yammering from ignorance are you? And are aware that it goes further than Federal law in trying to stop employment of illegals by bussinessess and individuals.
