We have come a far distance since the day when lynchings occurred commonly and the President sanctioned a march by the KKK terrorists down Pennsylvania Avenue. Too bad you will not acknowledge that. You paint us broadly with the lingering racism of a small fringe who themselves are frightened by their diminishing economics. Yes, Latinos are disadvantaged and stung by racism. But rural whites are also disadvantaged by poor education, poor medical care and faulty nutrition. You think there are no white ghettos? No amount of reparations will erase the historical stain. But reparations reside in the available opportunities which so many people of color have discovered. quote:
Reparations or something at least symbolic would help erase the disadvantages of being a Man of Color in this country for 400 years. These things have already happened.... the Great Society programs, the Civil Rights Act, Brown vs Topeka Bd of Ed, federal marshals in Little Rock, affirmative action, formal Congressional apology. I mean, wtf? What more do you want? The disadvantages persist in your own mind only. Time to stop making excuses. Time to throw away the wimpy crutch of reparations I think and stand like the proud man that you are and fuck-all those sorry ass people who keep hatred in their fearful hearts. Living well is the best reply.
