Their choices are the corrupt administration that can’t protect them or the Taliban, big choice that one. It's hard to admit you've been fighting a pointless war, I understand that. One day you'll look back on this and wonder how different your attempts were than the Soviet occupation.

It is not backed by anything. For 30 years oil was required to be priced in dollars. Once the 30 years was up- Iraq ended pricing in dollars. Iran is doing the same thing.

Conspiracy theories obscure the simple truth. Every time someone mentions such a theory there is someone in government (who deserves to be hung from a lamp post by their bollocks for their choices) rubs their hands together in glee. The dollar is the reserve currency of many governments it doesn't need to be backed by oil, this simple fact is the same reason your government can spend, spend, spend whilst the rest of us are tightening our belts.
