ORIGINAL: Aneirin The question is, how did they die, anything recognisable as acts of violence by others, and the second question is, who cares about people who through force of arms and violence capture, imprison and sometimes execute people for the purpose of extorting money. My understanding is the harder it becomes for those who wish to profit from acts of piracy, the better it will be for trade and traveller alike. More can be achieved by covert military action than standing armies with their plethora of technological weaponry that serves as proving grounds for arms manufacturers. Piracy is a thing of the past, make it remain so. We may never officially know "how they died". The inflatable boat story, is a bit odd, though. They were "released" because they did not have sufficient legal grounds to detain them. The Russians "released" them in an inflatable boat, then set them adrift in the Indian Ocean, with no navigational equipment to make their way home.
