How far away are you from a weight watchers meeting? Because they have those even in my small town.
And a gym with a personal trainer who can customize an exercise routine for you considering your health issues, which we all have even if it's just an ankle that tends to sprain easily.
And didn't the doctor offer any help quitting smoking? Because for about 20% of smokers it's easier to quit heroin than nicotine.

lally2 -> RE: i goofed up (5/20/2010 5:01:20 AM)

for what its worth i think giving up the food in conjunction with the fags is a good idea.  it might seem like alot to take on in one go, but giving up cigs can really wack the weight on because the tendency is to hit the fridge as a replacement to the ciggies.

someone i know gave up the smokes after 40 years or more of smoking.  she walked and walked, nothing really exhausting or fast, just stteady walking.  she replaced the fags for exercise basically.

as for diet.   just fill youre cupboards with low fat, low sugar stuff.  another tip that really does work is to cut out all carbs with meat.  if you want or need an energy meal then have pasta or potatoes but with only vegetarian food.  never combine starch with meat.

exercise increases youre metabolic rate, so you digest youre food far more effectively.  replace fags for exercise and id look into reducing youre wheat content too.  just check the labels for fat content, anything over 3% is too high.  cooking from fresh means you avoid all of the hidden fat, sugar, salt and wheat thats put into conveninience foods.

good luck

It may have been YOUR desired goal but is HE happy with your body & is just encouraging your goal set for yourself or is HE as unhappy w/your body as you appear to be & is encouraging you for himself?

It's important to know if he's going to fly off the handle because you cheat once in awhile because he wants to turn you into something to suit his fancy or is he upset because you're not happy?

yeah!!! [:D] - youll prolly drop quite quickly to start with, though i have to say this - you dont want to drop too fast - you need to really level out to about 2 to 3lbs a week, not a day - but you go girl - sounds like youre past youre goof up.

Desired as in you were making changes or desired as in "Yeah, I desire to win the lottery but never play"? I'm getting the feeling you wanted it in the same way I want to own a Corvette someday. Yeah it'd be great but I'm not doing anything about it.

You are taking good, positive steps but if eating ONE bite of cake and then getting the cake out of your house is SUCH a big deal, you both need to get grounded. You will mess up. You'll lose ten pounds, gain two during a rough week, and then lose 15.

You both have to able to forgive and forget those little mess-ups and give yourself a completely clean slate. When you treat them like major incidents, it makes this even harder than it needs to be.

Years ago I helped a friend while she went on a 6 week Methadone treatment for heroin. She stayed clean after, but she couldn't stop smoking. It's worse than unfortunately.

bestheadyet -> RE: i goofed up (5/20/2010 5:37:05 PM)

so sorry ...hope your friend feels better

DesFIP -> RE: i goofed up (5/21/2010 4:49:10 PM)

Last time I spoke to her, she was still clean. But still smoking. Which shows you graphically how difficult stopping smoking can be.
And is he aware that some women gain up to 8 pounds in the week before their period? So if he's going to judge by what size you are, you could be unfairly punished every month.

bestheadyet -> RE: i goofed up (5/21/2010 5:12:08 PM)

the smoking keeps crossing my mind.....but i keep remembering why im taking on these endeavors.

i wasnt satisfied as i was
i chose to do something different in order to have a shot at a good life.

Master has been a great encourager...and we have good communication ....which was fine tuned even more this week:)

this is a great exercise in obedience and my submission.

bestheadyet,

It depends on the mistake. Are we talking a one time thing or a repetitive act you refuse to cease? I'd think the latter would bring in different consequences. Understanding why the mistake occurred is important. Was it blatant disobedience or shoddy directives that led to an error? I think you get where I'm going.

On the one hand you have to realize you'll mess up and accept that. However, you can't use that line as a copout either. It really defeats the purpose of surrendering to a will outside of your own. Most of all, what are you getting out of it? There's a reason you're making this decision instead of one he'd greet favorably.

jbcurious -> RE: i goofed up (5/25/2010 12:26:36 AM)

That's awesome!!! Congratulations! Just remember that the closer you get to your ideal weight the slower it will come off... this is a good thing giving your body time to adjust to the changes...don't let it discourage you!

January -> RE: i goofed up (5/25/2010 5:54:46 AM)
