This came from another thread. Ladies im wondering about your views on this one. A new poster remarked that some in the lifestyle go for more extreme practices like starving a slave or sub or denying a slave or sub food or have a slave beg for food. One or two remarked that this was bonkers, the general consenus though was that one Woman's fish is another one's poison, what is acceptable to one Mistress may not be acceptable to another. Do you think starving a slave is acceptable if done within certain time periods and no more? Are people like this certfiable? Or is it ok if its between consenting adults?

As in an imposed fast, something that many people do to themselves quite safely?

Only if she is overweight and not for a long time, maximum one day. Probably not as a punishment, but as a some form of play, only if she consented to it.

I once suceeded starving myself for 2 days without bad consequences. So I think one day wouldn't do bad to anyone. Quite the opposite, fasting one day can be very invigorating and cleansing for the organism.

Yeah like i say even if it goes on for hours or days the debate is is it anyone's business but the two consenting adults if they are ok with it no one should intervene, or are these people crackers and they should be reported. But like i say  what two consenting adults do is probably no one's business but their own even if it is extreme or is it. Thanks for your thoughts La Tigresse. Will be interested as to how this thread unfolds

Why not?  If we assume that food denial is not done in an unhealthy manner, then sure.  It could be done to change dietary habits, as a punishment, or as an unusual form of play.

I'm assuming that your question pertains to ALL food.  It goes without saying that I have the right to refuse to allow a submissive to have certain foods all the time, or to make her have ones that are good for her.

Yes all food. i first became intrigued by this notion when reading a report of a guy who claims not to have eaten since birth. He is 75 now and amazed doctors who examined him and found that he had no nourishment in his body. He claims his secret was he touched by a guardian angel goddess at 14 and that spiritual power has kept him alive since without food

i suppose the real question is Do you as Domme/Dom feel you have an obligation to your sub/slave to ensure that they are well nourished, ie give them meals or allow them cook meals

I have to agree with most people on this thread. There are also a LOT of kinks out there for different people and maybe they get joy or amusement out of the dominant. As for the sub, maybe that is just one more way to prove his or her devotion to a Master or a Mistress.

As a person who was a messed up kid (different story for a different time), not eating for 1-3 days is not a big deal. If done somewhat properly, a person can actually go for more. So if the sub went in knowing that things like this could happen, than it is on the sub and the dom/me.

Just my two cents

He can probably also walk on the surface of water or fly. :)

Absolutely not. If they are sentient human beings they can do it themselves. Of course, if I saw that she is eating only unhealthy food or starving herself, I would correct her, but there's no need for me to provide or control her food. Someday she would cook, other day I would cook, we would together buy food and prepare it etc. Just like in all the other families.

Sometimes I think that people would do well to actually get out there and HAVE an M/s relationship rather than theorize about it. I can only imagine this question being asked at the local MAST meeting where I'm sure people would've fallen over laughing. Where are we going with this? Why?

While this may be an interesting question, it would behoovve us to remember that food is often a medication - diabetes comes to mind.

If you choose to do this, just don't be stupid... you know?

I thought the same thing too, especially in response to SN's response "Only if she is overweight" and I know that not all overweight people have Type II Diabetes but they are at high risk and many are undiagnosed.

Also, SN's comment made no sense, because that would actually be counter productive and anyone who knows anything about weight loss knows that starving yourself only has the reverse consequences when you start eating again.

Well sushinemiss, you and I and a handful of others here know this well and it applies to just about anything in the realm of BDSM. ;-)

Bottom line, I'm getting more and more selfish as time goes by and if it isn't going to get me off, I'm not going to do it. To have a grumpy, whiny, hungry man at my side is not going to put me in a good mood.

On a personal bases: No I would not be interested in doing it myself, and certainly never as punishment. To me food is a key right and need, so would never take that away as punishment. I may put someone on a healthy food regime if they needed it, but never make them go without. To me that is not part of MY personal BDSM play.

On a general bases: As long as it is done with consent by both parties, for a short duration and in a safe sense (make sure the slave gets at least enough water and is monitored constantly), then that it is their business. However if it is non-consentual and becomes abusive as in true starvation, that slave needs to be removed quickly and safe guarded.

Agreed - this SOUNDS interesting, but in practicality, how do you stop someone from eating? If there is food in the house and i am hungry, there isn't much you can do to me to stop me from eating it - especially if i am in charge of cooking.

And how many doms do the cooking in the house? You would need to be prepared to have me caged 24/7, and oops - there goes the job! No income in most houses is bad!

This is fantasy material.

and if the two of you have this same fantasy , then it really isn't a question of you starving him/her, but her agreeing not to eat. Which is a whole other kettle of fish, so to speak.

`Denial of food can be detrimental no matter what the weight.

I'm curious as to who's responsibility is it to remove a slave from a relationship and safe guard him or her.

there is a huge difference between denying food and starvation.
Skipping a meal, or even several, will not hurt the average person who has no medical issues, imho.

I do not see this as a BDSM issue as much as an issue of two in a relationship who are concerned with the health of the other. I have had a few conversations with hubby about his eating habits, as he has had with me.
