*laughs* Funny as hell. But in truth, life is more complex than that. One of the things I hated early on was people saying "I do it because it's my nature." That, of course, is a correct statement. But as an analogy, it is lightning's nature to strike tall objects. That is an undeniably true statement. That statement gives you some understanding about lightning. But it doesn't teach you how to construct a lightning rod.

Similarly, just because it's true that it is my nature to be dominant doesn't mean that there aren't deeper understandings to be had and those understandings can be hugely beneficial in terms of successfully managing an M/s relationship.

Oh sure, Jeff.

And I certainly believe in examining my life. However, in the end... life is about two things - learning and having fun. That's it (Illusions, Richard Bach).

I've done a good bit of learning. I'm in the having fun phase of my life. And I think learning is fun! So... I'm back to... doing stuff cause I like it, it feels right or I'm comfy with it... including learning! (ahhhh round and round we go!)

best,
sunshine

It's symptomatic of today's excess that the un-reflective (read: stupid) think they have the right not only not to think, but to dictate that others either not think or think exclusively behind closed doors.

Dude, you are not seriously thinking that *I'm* un-reflective?

Yeah baby!
I enjoyed school. I love learning. Life is too fun to make it so serious you forget to enjoy the scenery because you are too busy putting up the road signs.

LOL.... You know there is a difference between not having the capacity to know and not choosing to share.

Too wordy?

Too wordy? No. Incomplete? Yes. People also do stuff because of obligation, loyalty, sacrifice, challenge and a host of other reasons or for no reason at all or just because they feel they *should*. Sometimes it's damned uncomfortable, feels really wrong and they hate it, but.. they do it anyway. Such is the nature of the beast called human in a realm known as D/s.
