ORIGINAL: Aynne88 No I wasn't trying to be flippant. I am a huge "organic" food person, as in "Food Inc." My meat comes from local farms and not the grocery store. I get what you are saying, I just think that living in Maine, I will continue to enjoy my lobster. [;)]. It was "wicked good". Aynne, that's "wicked pissa!" I used to go over to that floating restaurant "Amato's (?) all the time in Portland, the owner's son (Steve) used to give us Coast Guard people a 10% discount when we'd flash our i.d.'s. (Shhhh!) The food there was Great! And the bar downstairs was a surprisingly good place to meet women. And the sunday brunch buffet was fantastic too! There was another great place in S. Portland too, "Newick's," but I noticed that it's gone when I drove by last summer! All kinds of great seafood restaurants in Maine! Noooo Amato's is a rocking good italian sandwich shop, you are thinking of DiMillo's! It's a big ship on the water on Congress Street! I have had plenty of fun in the bar.[;)]. Yep Newick's is closed, but right across from DiMillo's is a new place "Old Port Sea Grille and Raw Bar." Hot bartenders, killer oysters and great drinks. Get your ass here, I'll show you the town.[:)].
