popeye, at the same time, people need to pay attention to markets.

I was a music performance major. I didn't whine--I got busy and learned to put my skills to work. That led to a host of other opportunities, one after the other, building a unique and successful career.

Today, when I hear degreed people whine about the lack of opportunities, I have no sympathy.

1) You can't pursue a career as a sociology professor and wonder why you don't make $100,000.
2) You're supposed to be smart--go do something smart, and you'll earn a better living.

Do you think they are "overeducated for the market" or that they had no realistic idea how to make money verses becoming educated? Or that the two are not synonymous?

A full professorship and $100K does not seem too far out of line. A junior high school teacher in orange county california makes about $65K with about ten years on the job.

In the "bubble" market, it was an air of entitlement that came with a high education. The market cant support that belief anymore. MBA's who once came out of school with companies willing to pay for their educational experience now want more for their money. They would have been better off having worked between degrees, or while achieving degrees.

That does not seem too difficult to understand.

Or perhaps recognized that trade school is where one goes to learn how to make money and college is where you go to become educated and the two are not the same thing.

It is graduation time and lots of the local university students are moving back home because those high paying jobs are not waiting for them anymore. Even the ones with the accounting or engineering degrees.

You can go to college and come out with a high paying career.  Not everyone's going there for film studies.

Its simply stands to reason that my opinion is a manifestation of perfection in an imperfect world, such that allegiance to it must need reflect positively on those of such profession.
