Status: offline 		Yep, I am also hoping for our dutch neighbours

I have quite respect how well spain played to not give our team the chance to pass the ball on from one player to another to then shoot a goal (as they used to do in past games). I mean, I missed most of the game due to travel time to nightshift but what I did see afterwards they made sure to not be run over like argentina, england and australia.

On the german yahoo page one player was citated of having said something like that they had such hard work to work on their defense against spain that they were running out of power to attack...

However, I am pleased with how far our young boys got and let's wait and see waht 2014 and 2018 will hold

though on a personal level the spanier nr. 15 should have been given red after stomping with his foot on was it Schweinsteiger??? Whoever it was, I was a lil bit gobsmacked about that lil attack...but that''s just me

Same around here.
I really really like the Netherlands, and its people. It is my vacation country of choice.

So after Germany has won 3rd on Saturday, we will be rooting for the Oranjes.


Spain was the vastly superior team in the game yesterday. It was a well deserved win, no two ways about it.

I doubt it. Spain should be far too good for the Dutch. The one hope they have is that Spain don't have a natural finisher who is firing....Torres is struggling at the moment....and Villa is more of a wide man....so the Spanish could create a lot of chances and the Dutch do a smash and grab on them and win 1-0 or something....

But really....the Spanish showed last night that they're hard to live with when they're on their game.....

I had a bet on the Dutch at the start of the tournament at 16-1...and think I said somewhere on this thread that they were a decent outside of bet.....but I can't see them winning on Sunday night......they don't have a great deal of flair in their side......and man for man the Spanish are better all over the pitch....there isn't one Dutch player who would get in the Spanish side....

So....it's the Spanish for me....comfortably....3-0.

yeah and I will be at work again

I am off so many days this week due to my litter and when do they have to play? the only evenings where I am not at home

But at least I will be able to watch it there, not as i was with the last game

Indeed they did show that...

and the "psycho-octopus" in Germany also predicts that spain is winning

When I called home last night my mother (she is very interested in football, always was) she said that spain did win the EM 2 years ago...well, if that's the case then I am more than happy for them to win the WM as well...it's ok if a team has such a good run and able to beat others

Status: offline 		It would be most ungracious of Spain to attempt to win, considering that the Dutch are amongst those bailing their economy out through the ECB. Though it would be good for morale down in Iberia I guess, apart from the far western parts.

I think if Holland win it will either be a 1-0 lucky strike or a runaway thumping for a Spain team prone to collapse when behind.

Spain ought to be favourites to romp home though.

I say, whoever wins, it should promise to be a good, entertaining game.  Both teams are hungry for it, both had to beat the favorites.   Nothing against Brazil, but it's nice to see someone else in competition.  :)

Status: offline 		I think the experts are plain wrong then Lisa. If Spain can do their thing Sunday night, theyll walk it, and odds are they will do their thing. Germany almost stopped them doing their thing and I dont think the Dutch will do any better.

Still want Holland to win though

Sure it depends but as my country of origin used their "psycho octopus" for the games, I am naturally bound to go with my country on that one And his prediction doesn't mean that I am hoping it will be spain to win...though by now I also have to say it doesn't really matter to me between those two countries
