England should have beaten both Algeria and the USA on paper. A glance at league form for the teams show you that quite clearly. The fact we didnt is down to one thing, heart, both our opponents had it in spades and wanted to win. England seemed to think strolling about was good enough. Rooney, undoubtedly one of the worlds top strikers, had the worst game I can recall him playing in an England shirt. Lampard and Gerrard, although playing out of position, didnt show the creativity in midfield that we are used to. Dont start me off on the manager. Capello doesnt seem to know how to play the team tactically. Lampard and Gerrard both played out of position. Against the USA he brought on Wright-Phillips on the left, when he is a right sided player, but left joe Cole, who is naturally left sided, on the bench. As Gent has pointed out, Heskey isnt a patch on Defoe, or even Crouch. Lets hope he picks the right squad, because Slovenia wont be a walk in the park. If I had to pick two teams to qualify, judged on previous games, it would be Slovenia and the USA. Infact, the USA should qualify anyway, I think they are too strong for Algeria and five points will be enough for them
