What a woman of say... 20... will willingly discuss about her own sexuality.. and what a woman of say... 50... will discuss is two totally different animals depending on when the question was asked. And for a publication of a book... its a bit longer than 6 months of research, dear.

Nineveh -> RE: No Male dominatrices? (6/14/2010 11:19:35 PM)

I'm 32.  I don't notice any less desire for sex than I had when I was 18 or 25. I do notice a bit less ability, as in it takes longer to be able to get hard again after climax and because my lifestyle has become more sedentary I just don't have the physical stamina for a sexual marathon that takes several hours anymore.  Not unless she does a lot more of the work than she used to have to.

As to the lack of ProDoms I think there are a lot of reasons but I really doubt that low female sex drives, even if actually true, can be considered as a serious contributing factor.  Domination is not just about sex, and the need to be controlled is just as strong in a femsub as in a malesub.

a) women, in general, have weaker sex drive (libido) than man, they simply don't desire sex and all the other sexual things as strongly as men
b) women, in general, are more sexually repressed than man and the society judges women and men who do exactly the same things completely differently.

[sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif]
I married a man 9 years my junior (I was 30, he was 21), and he didn't have a hope in hell of keeping up with me sexually, lol. As always, it depends on the people involved. The fact that I'm now divorced gives a clue, as does the fact that I only consider men older than myself as partners.

On topic, my first encounter with the lifestyle was when I had a fling with a Pro Dom at age 25. Our relationship was vanilla (gawd, what was I thinking), but I knew that he had clients. He was... amazing in the way he read my body language and knew when 'no' meant "Oh FUCK, don't stop!!!!" and when 'no' meant "Oh HELL NO". I'll admit, he set the bar rather high, but I'm good with that [:D]

You have to be super careful about making generalisations like this, and when you bandy "stats" and "research" you'd better be ready to pony up the sources.

You're right when you say that statistics can be challenged in many ways, so you need to think carefully before you use them.

Your "stats" are meaningless in the context of the op - the main reason I think they're b/s is that the population of kink-land is a self-selected group which deselects any population with a low sex drive (not that kink-land is just about the sex..).

Add to that a general trend that I've perceived over the last three decades in which women have increasingly taken charge of their sexuality (Beginning with the likes of Greer and Nancy Friday) and leading to a general liberation of female sexuality in society and the media (Compare the top selling female vocalists by decade from the 50's to today to see a massive change in sexual empowerment)

I'd be very very surprised if today you could conduct a meaningful research study that came to the conclusions you have come to.

DesFIP -> RE: No Male dominatrices? (6/15/2010 3:46:09 AM)

I will agree that women in countries such as Bosnia are culturally conditioned not to seek out sex. After all, that's a country in which a man can get off free because "she was asking for it in her provocative clothing" is considered a valid rape defense.

How SNot can extrapolate that to the rest of the world I don't know. Or don't they get American television there? Because it is different here and in Western Europe and Canada.

SocratesNot -> RE: No Male dominatrices? (6/15/2010 3:46:49 AM)

Unfortunately, despite the female sexual empowerment, some legacy of the past is still present, and statistically my statement is still true, however there are many exceptions to the general rule.

And this does not apply only to Pro Doms - there are also extremely few male prostitutes who cater to female clientele. I am not counting gay male prostitutes. Also, there is extremely small number of male phone sex operators who have female clientele.

However there are 3 reasons for this - not just 2 as I previously thought.
There are 2 resons that I have already mentioned (lower sex drive of women, greater sex repression of women in society) and there is the Third Reason!!! Actually the most important one - and I was so foolish that I forgot about that reason in my first reply.

So The Third Reason -. and the most important one

why there are virtually no Pro Doms who have female clients,
very few male prostitutes who have female clients (gigolos)
and virtually No male phone sex operators who work for female cleints - is:

Because women can get it WAAAAY MORE EASILY and they don't have to pay anything!

The woman who wants to have sex can get it the very same evening when she goes out.
The man who wants to have sex will have to make a lot of effort to get it.

So men who lack the skills and are unwilling make the effort to get sex for free - they will pay phone sex operators, prostitutes and dominatrices instead.

Any women who has at least decent looks  can get sex effortlessly the very same evening  when she goes out.
Even those whose looks are not so decent can do the same if they suggest a random man to drink few more beers than usually.

Now you may ask - why is it way more easy for women to get laid than for men? The answer is simple - the only thing a woman has to do to get laid is to just  ask for it !!!

If you think that we are living in jungle or that we are some sort of uncivilized barbarians you are very wrong and it just shows your prejudices.

BTW, treatment of women in Bosnia is not different than treatment of women in US, Canada or Western Europe.
Culturally, we belong to the same civilization - now I am talking about Republika Srpska - this is the Serbian entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina in which I live - we are Serbs by ethnicity and Christians by religion - we are very westernized and we are part of Western civilization. We have over 60 channels on Cable TV, including CNN, Discovery, National Geographic, BBC, Rai Uno, RTL, MTV, Euro Sport, etc. We dress like people in Western Europe and we have similar way of life. Yes, we have worse economic standard, but this is the only difference. Women are very emancipated here and traditional patriarchy is not very prominent.

And also, unlike in US, we never kept people in slavery and we never committed large scale genocide.
Yes, in  Srebrenica, there was a genocide. Over 8000 people died.
But this was a single incident.
What about systematic long-term genocide and killing of Native Americans?

quote:

Authors such as the Holocaust expert David Cesarani have argued that the government and policies of the United States of America against certain indigenous peoples constituted genocide. Cesarani states that "in terms of the sheer numbers killed, the Native American Genocide exceeds that of the Holocaust".[24] He quotes David E. Stannard, author of American Holocaust,[25] who speaks of the "genocidal and racist horrors against the indigenous peoples that have been and are being perpetrated by many nations in the Western Hemisphere, including the United States ..."[26] Michno estimates 21,586 dead, wounded, and captured civilians and soldiers for the period of 1850–1890 alone.[27] In God, Greed, and Genocide: The Holocaust Through the Centuries, Grenke quotes Chalk and Jonassohn with regards to the Cherokee Trail of Tears that "an act like the Cherokee deportation would almost certainly be considered an act of genocide today".[28] The Indian Removal Act of 1830 led to the Trail of Tears. About 17,000 Cherokees — along with approximately 2,000 black slaves owned by Cherokees — were removed from their homes.[29] The number of people who died as a result of the Trail of Tears has been variously estimated. American doctor and missionary Elizur Butler, who made the journey with one party, estimated 4,000 deaths.[30] For the slaughter of Haitians in the Dominican Republic, see Parsley Massacre.

What about Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Since you make the claim again.... could you pony up a decent research study from the past five years that contains these stats?

It would be a great favour, as I'd then be able to get the klaxon on my JD to stop going "woot woot woot!"

Ta in advance

ROFLMAO    Pay attention Sigmund Fraud.   Just because women are not out trying to hump everything that moves and paying for the privilege does not mean we have weaker sex drives.

Sex Drive: How Do Men and Women Compare? Experts say men score higher in libido, while women's sex drive is more "fluid."
I will copy just the main points:
1. Men think more about sex.2. Men seek sex more avidly.3. Women's sexual inclinations are more complicated than men's.4. Women's sex drives are more influenced by social and cultural factors.5. Women take a less direct route to sexual satisfaction.6. Women experience orgasms differently than men.7. Women's libidos seem to be less amenable to drugs.for the rest see:

SocNot, when, oh when are you going to get the balls to get rid of your blow-up doll and stop wanking over the porn sites on your computer and go out and meet people and actually get laid by a real woman, one you can blow your mind and she blows your cock after riding you to a standstill.

You really need to shove a cork in the hole of yours which drivels this shit you espouse about women and a myriad of other matters you obviously know fuck all about.

Locally, I know of three Male Pro Doms.

Palo Alto Medical foundation
Myth.
Men and women on average have the same level of sex drive, according to scientists. None of us are alike in when we will want to have sex, how often and with whom. Some guys want sex at an earlier age, some at a later age. Likewise, some girls want to have sex at an earlier age, some at a later age. Some want more sex and some want less sex. But television, movies, magazines and society in general present us with a false definition of who we are supposed to be and when we should have sex.

This is not actual science and this is not debunking of any myths. This text is deliberately politically correct and this is aimed at teens with intention to relieve them of pressure associated with first time sex. This text is good in achieving its aim, but this text is not factually true.

The other aim of this text is to make them not rush into first time sex  - actually this text says - it's better to wait. The same advice as most of the parents would give to their children.

BTW-
Sex-Starved Marriages - Women Struggle to Cope With Spouses' Low Sex Drives - an ABC news stories about wives who have husbands with low sex drives. According to this story men tend to not discuss their low libidos.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/990260/posts

............and more myth busters
According to Dr. Joy Davidson author of the book "Fearless Sex"

Men have a greater sex drive than women. Generally speaking, guys between the ages of 17 and 25 are juiced up on testosterone and have pretty impressive sex drives. “But when you’re talking about all men,” says Dr. Davidson, “the difference in sex drives between individuals is much greater than the difference in sex drives between sexes.”

http://hellobeautiful.com/sex-love/hello-beautiful-staff/4-common-sex-myths-you-should-not-believe/

Myth: Males have stronger sex drives and are more interested in sex than females.
Fact: The female's sex drive is just as strong as the male's. Society has traditionally allowed males to express their interest in sex more openly, however.
http://www.agnr.umd.edu/nnfr/adolsex/fact/adolsex_myths.html

And according to Feminist for free expression half of all adult videos are rented or bought by women.

Crazyml, please quit calling him snot. It's so beneath your usual high caliber of posts that I can't even see the rest of what you're writing.

SN, find some recent peer-reviewed journals regarding this, and perhaps you will have something of substance. Right now all you have are your own misperceptions backed up by extremely dubious sources.

LadyCimarron -> RE: No Male dominatrices? (6/15/2010 5:38:43 AM)

man to woman: "How come you never tell me when you are cumming"
woman to man: "I would, but you are never there when it happens"

RECENT STUDY SHOWS THAT 92% OF WOMEN MASTURBATE REGULARLY.
