It has already been noted that you attempt to put words in peoples mouths with your attempts to change what people have said. I do not believe that if I asked you not to that this would change. If you felt slighted that I was attempting to point out a spelling mistake, this was not the case and I will apologise for any ill intent that this misunderstand may have caused you to feel and manifest towards me. Unfortunately as I will be 'blocked' you may not read this and there is not point in answering your questions you have asked me. Just because one doesn't not believe something may be racist, does not mean that this is not so.(and visa versa). the.dark.

I'm not sure it's always a belief of truly being better. I think many people that do this are just afraid of not being good enough. Subblier, more devout, richer, prettier, skinnier, smarter...whatever...racism is just another form of it. Sometimes unfortunately, it's just learned behavior and people don't know better. I grew up with it. Thankfully I've found it to be one of the most untintelligent manners of thinking and discarded it as ridiculous. Splorff, the argument of "well other people are discriminated against too" is silly. It doesn't change the fact that racism is wrong.

I am not excusing some while condemning others. But you say we as white people have “ historical standing as oppressors” The black guy you mention is in the same position as me. All white people are not telling racial jokes while remaining oblivious to the Racist history of my country. However, those who do tell racist jokes are using stereotypes of inferiority as a punch line. It is the jokers I am uncomfortable with. I have put no words in your mouth at all. You certainly are advocating group guilt. You said that white people have historical standing as oppressors. The obvious implication, is that living whites bear guilt. You are advocating group guilt. You seek to create guilt where it does not belong. And just as carefully, you avoid the fact that black people have done awful things in their past. But that is to be avoided, for it does not assist your silly argument. I gave some examples in reply to tazzy's question. It was not meant to be all inclusive. The problem here is that you apparently have no understanding of the racist history of America and of its lingering effects/animosities. I do have some understanding of American history, its British equivalent is little better. All nations have unpleasant histories. People living in the present should not be held accountable, or be made to feel guilty about what others did long ago. There are people enough out there with depression and low self esteem. Are you really comfortable peddling this drivel ?
