ORIGINAL: pahunkboy Maybe it is just that one section of Germany? unfortunately not....at a similar time the munich police was in the press about big bullying problems inside their crowds... and the problem with institutions like the police is sometimes that if one person has a problem with you and that person is well liked...the fire spreads fast. Before those officers were sacked I enforced no-smoking-policy within our PA office per managers word...I tried it at first nicely but it didn't work, a la you can't demand that from us we can smoke in your office if we want...when I made clear that I am not afraid of going via the manager I was laughed at that he smokes himself anyway, so if I think that would help I should go but that wouldn't change a thing... well...I went (as long as they were only smoking whilst working with us to get documents done for courts or so my colleague and I tolerated it, however it had developed into their social room to have a fag and thats where we started to get pissed off about that situation) and the next day the manager made clear (only used about 3 sentences, he didnt need many words to make himself understood) that there is no need to smoke in the office from two non-smokers....well, once he was sacked about 3 months later it was "pay back time"...and then it does not matter where you continue your work the fire spreads, people find out to which department you change they know staff there and try to make sure you are receiving there hell on earth as well... my luck only was that in those 2 I was there were quite a few who didn't go with the flow and who spoke up against it...and that helped to finish my work there in peace at the end...there were quite a few handsome chaps who did not tolerate it despite that some got really personal and really nasty with their attitude at me...however, their actions against it were really powerful for my soul so it didn't bother me too much. I am just grateful that there were about eight staff or so who did not tolerate that crap and made it clear. two of them were my last 2 managers (they removed me from the 2nd last manager when they realised that he was incredible supportive and keen on making my temporary contract into a permanent one, so they moved me to work for the uniformed ones...they had less power to achieve goals further up than the ones without uniform...at least in our city). however, I had great final 9 months before my contract was finished and that was at least something after 10 months of hell... also within my 10 troublesome months I was supposed to help out at a different department as they would be sooooooooooo short staffed and would need help...once I was there there was next to nothing to do for days and thats just not how I work, even less when I knew that my colleague at my department was drowning in work...I said something about that fact which again...didnt go well and I was sent back to where I came from *lol*...later I was informed that they had the plan to move me to that department permanent (well, why can't they then play with open cards and just tell me *sigh*)...on the plus side, my complaint about that matter seems to have contributed for that manager to be taken off his manager post...many people complained about his bullying manners and so not that long after I was sent away he was taken off his chair as he was considered as being inhumane to work for as staff...now one of the guys who stood up big time against the bullying in my department got that post And before I left I sent him a thank you letter, as it was nice that he did act on what he saw despite that he only worked for 3 weeks in our department during his training time to become a hgher rank cop. therefore...policeforces can be funny particular...when you are rather assertive at times
