I think Byrd renounced his past, long ago. While the goBP is rife with bigots, homophobes,Islamophobes, well armed Christo-fascists and democracy hating radicals(tea-baggers) today, now, presently, this moment. The difference between partys isn`t bigots in their midst's. It`s how they deal with them. If Byrd was still a hateful bigot, the dems would have tossed him long ago.If they hadn`t,then they could be called hypocrites,...and with credibility. But Byrd isn`t,they haven`t had to and aren`t hypocrites. While in the goBP,they embrace defend and promote bigotry. It`s even writen into their party platform.Ok, the code words are defense of marriage, but you get the drift. The code words are always skillfully used,ie "is Obama a Muslim?!!" or "is he an American"?!!.....but it`s still dyed in the wool with that party. So who`s the hypocrite? The funniest part is that repugs think Michael Steele mitigates all that lunatic fringery in the republican party. It doesn`t work that way. rich must feel awefully ashamed of his party, to "go there" like he did w/ the OP.
