Sen. Robert Byrd hospitalized in serious condition

I'm not wishing him any personal ill, mind you, but I am going to hope this is the end this sheet-wearer's political career. Of course, at 92, maybe it's time for him to allow those medical resources to be used by someone younger, with a better long-term prognosis. [8|]

LadyEllen -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 2:28:57 PM)

Nonsense! If he has the cash then he should get the treatment; anything else is socialism, I should have thought you'd have known that and laid off giving the appearance of a member of a "death panel" like this.

Good enough? Pretty open goal wasnt it? So what was your point? You must have been waiting for such a response to be able to make it?

If he's in hospital, rather than a morgue, his condition isn't serious enough yet.

TheHeretic -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 2:39:22 PM)

Just having a spot of fun, with a serious story, LadyE. [;)]

I also enjoy bringing up "Sheets" Byrd to remind Democrats of their own hypocrisy when it comes to politicizing racism. Not quite as much fun as Ted Kennedy and women's rights, or Frank/Rangel/Jefferson when it comes to corruption, but since the only member of Congress who held membership in the Klu Klux Klowns was a Democrat, it seems worth noting.

Moonhead -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 2:41:35 PM)

David Duke stood for both parties, iirc.

Owner59 -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 3:22:22 PM)

I think Byrd renounced his past, long ago.

While the goBP is rife with bigots, homophobes,Islamophobes, well armed Christo-fascists and democracy hating radicals(tea-baggers) today, now, presently, this moment.

The difference between partys isn`t bigots in their midst's.

It`s how they deal with them.

If Byrd was still a hateful bigot, the dems would have tossed him long ago.If they hadn`t,then they could be called hypocrites,...and with credibility. But Byrd isn`t,they haven`t had to and aren`t hypocrites.

While in the goBP,they embrace defend and promote bigotry. It`s even writen into their party platform.Ok, the code words are defense of marriage, but you get the drift.

The code words are always skillfully used,ie "is Obama a Muslim?!!" or "is he an American"?!!.....but it`s still dyed in the wool with that party.

So who`s the hypocrite?[;)]

The funniest part is that repugs think Michael Steele mitigates all that lunatic fringery in the republican party. It doesn`t work that way.[:D]

rich must feel awefully ashamed of his party, to "go there" like he did w/ the OP.

[:D]

Yup,bullshit in,bullshit out......[:D]or is that garbage in,garbage out.It`s one of those....[:D]

Yeah,Trent Lott and a lot of other republicans are in the CCC,a nicely dressed, well spoken front group for the KKK.

And just recently, the freak`n John Birch Society co-sponsored CPAC 2010 in Washington DC.

Talk about hypocrisy.

Hey folks, shouldn`t there be a rule that there be actual real hypocrisy , before that word is used.Seems the meaning is getting watered down to the point where it`s meaningless?

Just say`n.

DarwinsLilHelper -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 4:16:44 PM)

Is he okkk?

Owner59 -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 4:29:41 PM)

Yeah but when he won, it was running as a republican.

Owner59 -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 5:14:04 PM)

Yup,in spite of Reagen running ads against him.

Bigots are everywhere, like cancer and rats.

It`s which party that embraces them, that counts.

It`s as subtle and soft as Reagen's myth about a black welfare mom driving a new Cadillac to pick up her welfare check to overt as Duke and Knotts

pahunkboy -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 5:36:24 PM)

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0610/39067.html

it could ruin the finance reform bill.  I hope it does.

flcouple2009 -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 5:53:02 PM)

Yes but I have to give the State Republican Party credit.  They didn't want him, and when he one his term in the Louisiana House they did everything they could to ostracize and minimize him.  He only won the election because of a comment from John Treen about being willing to listen on raising property taxes.  That set the people in the Suburbs off so badly they refused to vote for Treen.  That as it was Duke only one by about 1%.

He came in second in the open primary when he ran for Governor.   Much of that had to do with people voting against the incumbent Buddy Roemer rather than actually voting for Duke.

Neither party has a monopoly on racist.  it used to be back in the day the Democrats were heavy in the segregation and Jim Crow.  Now many of those people seem to have swung over to the Republican party.  I am sure one day it will swing back.

Bullshit on yourself. Sitting members of the United States Senate or House of Representatives who were members of the KKK. Byrd is all alone in that category, whether he took the sheets out of the closet and put them back on the bed or not.

The responses here, especially from Basiji59 only reinforce my ongoing peeve about Democrats having no actual values. Racists are fine, as long as they have a D by their name on the ballot.

Owner59 -> RE: KKK Senator hospitalized in serious condition (6/27/2010 7:49:33 PM)

And this racism in the democratic party is where?

From whom?

[:D]

Let me ask rich,if you were cooking at an inter-faith gathering and someone didn`t want to eat pork b/c their Muslim faith forbade that, would you attempt to convert them to Christianity as a solution?

ah c`mon rich.....just a little Islamophibic humor for ya....[:D]

Did you bother to read the basis of the thread, Basiji? Robert Byrd, Democrat Senator, KKK recruiter.
