Exactly the reason I abandoned my old profile and took the name Syrox... my old name (Phoenix73Sir) seemed too arrogant. as though I was already assuming a status I have yet to earn.

Syrox to me is very neutral but still exudes a sense of authority.

I'm not sure that your meerkat saying 'Simples!!! Squeak' avatar adds to that sense of authority, though, Syrox.

but he makes me giggle....  And apparantly does the same for a number of others judging from the Cmail he has gotten.  Besides... Serious is for special occasions.. I prefer to enjoy life and laugh.

It's worrying that my avatar gets more Cmail than I do...  yest I am the creator of my own avatar...  I think my head may well explode.

I loves me some meerkats!

I just wanted to be plain old Hibiscus... but that was taken!! I wanted to be some variation of my name, Francine, but THOSE were taken by CD's! So I am LadyH, so folks don't think I'm a guy. I am continually amazed that folks don't know what a hibiscus IS. No one gives me hooey over the "Lady" thing, either. Which I am entitled to use as a clergyperson, so not being all hoity-toity.

Though I could be all hoity toity. If someone reminded me, anyway.

Ahhhh would that be Morning Tea, Afternoon Tea, or High Tea ? Just so I would be able to instruct the chef accordingly. Of course it could be for an Aussie "Smoke-O". Unless it was one of those long Teas which start in the morning and end the next afternoon or a couple of days later...... ~ Wiggles eyebrows ~

Yeah, those names can mean subs with issues but both of these types can also be fetishists looking to get their SAM or degradation needs met. They are a kind of hanky code to some people.

So are you saying you might not be caring and real?

I know this is a bit judgmental, but it is honest, and I am curious about others' thoughts on this subject.

It is judgmental but I think we all do it..Let's hope the judgmental part doesn't move to everything in life.

I'm with ya on this though..If someone's name eludes to sexual, I'm moving on.

If it says I'm a bitch or won't obey or they are trouble in someway...I'm definitely passing by. If they don't care enough to put some thought into what they are going to attract then they get what they get. (Shrugs)

If they enjoy what they get..All the better for them.

I tend to regard anybody who uses Master/Sir/Lord in their nic as too full of them selves to be taken seriously, and since I mostly hang in P&R I whenever I see a nick with a "cuck" in it I assume another batshit right-winger

Awww, you still love me though, right? :)

In all seriousness though, the "Sir" in my nick here is for ease of use for others.  Really, this is the internet, and unfortunately, I found long ago that one has to make things terribly terribly simple on this here series of tubes.  And even then, you'll always find the ones that still just don't get it.

Take myself seriously though?  Pfft.  That's about the last thing anyone would ever say about me.  I'm not only ridiculous, I'm downright hypothetical.

Others names though, it depends.  Things that are blatant, such as "DicSkr4U" or whatever, yeah... that's a no go.  I'll probably read their cmail, but they've already started out on the wrong foot.  Something like "JoeySissy" though, well, that might interest me a bit more, as with my name, a bit of a quantifier right off the bat that tells me what position they're in.  "BKSir", right off the bat, one should imagine that I'm probably a D-type, whereas "JoeySissy", I should think logically that they're an S-type.  Just gives me a little bit of an idea what to expect, without being too blatant and crude.  Otherwise, it really doesn't give me a lot of insight into their mind and motivators aside from what side of the paddle they like to be on.  "DicSkr4U" though, that tends to say a lot, in my mind, as to why they're here, what they want, and what is important in their life.  So, while off-putting in a way, I suppose it is a good thing, as I know that I probably won't waste much of my time on them.

BKSir is very different to SirBK, so I have no problem taking you seriously whatsoever.

I can't work out why it's better that way than the other way around, though.

Because the other way would just be rude and improper.  Her Royal Highness has not knighted me, I have no O.B.E., so, SirBK would be just terribly incorrect.

Then again, I don't think I want to be knighted for that matter.  Normally little old ladies with sharp objects... I don't want them that close to my neck.  They're usually aiming for it, yes, but I tend to be running.

My edit might actually shed some insight into that mystery of the order of the name, and why it works a bit better.  Dunno.  It's too hot, my brain melted long ago.

And obviously, as a denizen of CM you are *all about* propriety

I think it's that I can imagine someone saying 'Yes, BK, SIR!' because that's just how Americans seem to talk when they wish to be respectful.

I dunno. Maybe I've just been watching to much gay porn recently.

All that means is that you have to bide your time. One day she will be gone and her son will be gone and it will be 'all hail King William!'. At which point I personally would let him put whatever sharp objects wherever he bloody well wants to...

But obviously I can't speak for you.

That was kinda my point.

You may be a wonderful person...I know your from Virginia and have seen your profile pop up but because of the sexual pictures and the name..I moved on.

If your happy with what your attracting then it's working for you. That's all that matters.

I believe Her Royal Highness wouldn't be the one giving you the O.B.E.
That would be Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

I'm an Anglophile :)
