Wowsa boijen!  For someone so well known in this very close-knit community we have, I'm more than a bit ************* to read this post from you.  I'm not so oblivious to think racism, sexism, homophobia, etc., is non-existent in our community, but to read this leaves me *************.

Fortunately, I no longer have to contemplate buying a whip from you.

Respect to your Owner.

I never said anything about arrest.  I said calling the police.

You call the police and expect what to happen? Try calling the police to report nothing and see what that gets you.

You call police about a disturbance, something you feel threatened by, etc.  If it makes you feel better that to cops came out, did a report, and went on their merry way, I see no problem here.  They're doing their job by aiding the public.  I also expect them to explain to those men that the behavior they're exhibiting is disrupting the peace/making people uncomfortable.  He was walking around with a friggin' nightstick.  I'd be a little unnerved and uncomfortable as well.

Do you realize that in many parts of the country those men could have legally been carrying concealed handguns but a nightstick makes you feel the need to get the police involved?

You prove the irrationality of your fear with every post.

TheHeretic -> RE: I am not a racist. (7/13/2010 9:54:09 PM)

What is the expressed threat of a gun no one can see?

What is the expressed threat of carrying any weapon concealed or otherwise?

TheHeretic -> RE: I am not a racist. (7/13/2010 10:12:37 PM)

How is someone threatened by a weapon they don't know is there?

Are you really insisting that open carry is the issue?

So last year when people were showing up at Obama speeches with guns that was a threat? Back then the right wingers thought open carry was a fine political statement.

Pretty much everyone -I- know who owns handguns and conceal carries doesn't go flaunting it around like that, waving it around, knocking it in their palms.  They have respect for the weapons they carry because they don't want to lose their right to bear arms.  These numb skulls are doing just that; being numb skulls, and I'd be pretty pissed off and intimidated to see someone walking around like that with the expressions on their faces...like they meant business.  Excuse me for being intimidated.  I guess my pov doesn't mean shit, or the pov of the people who called the police either.

DomKen -> RE: I am not a racist. (7/14/2010 5:31:25 AM)

The cameraman/instigator is the one who called the police. No one else complained.

Watch the video again. this time concentrate on what is happening just behind the 2 men. You'll see an absolutelu unconcerned young woman flouncing about chatting on her cell. The cameraman was out looking to create trouble, why else ask his companion if he "had his back?"

No, actually what you can do is go back and read posts numbered 44 and 51. Mine and yours. You'll find that I did refer to my own experiences as a member of the LGBT community and the resulting broken nose.

What I find interesting is that you refuse to acknowledge that a white kid got their ass kicked because they were white by a bunch of black kids. If that's not racism, what the fuck would you call it?

boi

No, I am not saying it can't happen at all. I didn't say that.

Black folk, make up your fuckin minds what you wanna be called or we're gonna go back to calling you people "negros".

While we're at it, how is "colored" that much fuckin different than "people of color"?

I refuse to call you all "African-Americans" because not all of you have heritage in country existing within the continent of Africa.

White folk are happy being called white folk. Now get with the damned program.

boi

Just to confirm. Yes, you are a racist.

Just to confirm.  Yes, you are a racist.

Firm

Compliment coming from you bubba

Great another fucking story from someone saying they are white and oppressed by being a "minority" . Will the comedy ever end?

You don't think that being a member of the LGBT community makes a person a minority?

Not saying that at all. She was coming at me as a "white" person not a person of the LGBT community

Seriously?

Do you need me to repost your OP?

Maybe you should.  It may draw your attention to her screen name.  Perhaps you are not familiar with the term "boi".

Will let you go back and read the words for comprehension. Then come back to me.

MissAsylum -> RE: I am not a racist. (7/14/2010 6:00:15 AM)

~FR~ In my short life, i've gotten so many different types of race hate spewed at me, I'm surprised that i don't take part of that stupid reverse rascism crap. I get it from family members constantly. They see me as a muddled down version of what they are. The caucasians have called me black and dirty, the dominicans won't speak to my face, but delight in calling me a nigger, and the hatians call me (in a polite way) "high yellow" when i'm not tan, and say that i think i'm too good to identify as black. i've gotten into a few physical confrontations as a result. I don't identify as black because I'm not. I don't identify as African-American, because I'm neither. I also don't call myself white or domincan because i am not made up of just one of those things. I have a name and according to Domiguy, I'm beige. And i'm just fine with that. so no Jen, you are not a racist. "Black" is just a label and should be treated as just that. Nothing more.

Aynne88, the only time I hear the "N" word is...from black people...and in rap music...usually blared from cars while someone is cleaning them or gossiping with a neighbor, and wants to share the music with the whole neighborhood for 1-3 hours.  I've lived in California, Florida, Texas, West Virginia, Ohio, Washington, and Wyoming.  My friends and I, or even acquaintences, do not drive by in cars and sling that word around.  I also do not call my "white" friends honkeys or whitey (I leave that to my step brothers, who are all black), and I have never called a hispanic a spick or an Italian a dago or whatever.  We have better things to do.

quote:

Lastly, as a feminist and a liberal white woman, let me tell ya, I wouldn't want to trade places in the discrimination challenge with any brown skinned male anytime soon. I am not stupid, I see the carte blanche my caucasian-ness gets me. I don't see how any white person can say without being intellectually dishonest that they face any amount of racism in comparison.

[sm=rofl.gif]
I'm a "white person" though I prefer to be called caucasian, and yes, I have been in the position of being a MINORITY many times.  I lived in Van Nuys, California where hispanics were the majority in my neighborhood and in all the stores in any given direction.  I also spent a year in Dayton, Ohio, where I was definitely a member of a teeny minority where "blacks" were the hands down majority.  Roots played, so my little gradeschool ass got kicked to get even for all the oppression of the people and to pay back the damage done to Kunta Kinte.

Please do not presume to call anyone "intellectually dishonest" who has faced racism and chose to...be gracious and turn the other cheek.

You have your experiences, and I have mine.  I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with racism...but there's a time to realize something about enemies when one grows up.  The old adage of...being careful not to become just like them.  Someone treating me in a prejudiced manner will not force me to become just like them and act like turnabout is fair play.

I will be so kind to them that they feel like the jackass that they are...isn't this something like MLK and Ghandi talked about?

And all that has what to do with me being called black or african american?

Jeffff -> RE: I am not a racist. (7/14/2010 6:14:42 AM)

I hate white people. White people have kept me down my whole life. White people suck.

I leave you with a quote from Flo and Eddie.

Death to whitey, poor white trash.
Smoke his hash, kick his ass,
Ball his woman, ball his son,
Death to whitey, right on!

Death to whitey , burn the honky, right on!, right on!
