first, keep your pathetic welcome. second, look at the definition of racism very carefully. Note the word "supremacy". now here is "affirmative action": n, an active effort to improve the educational and employment oppourtunities of members of minority groups, women, and other disadvantaged persons(webster's new college dictionary). if you are going to regard affirmative action as racist, you need to take the other factors into account. it does not apply to just race. So if you get passed over for an Asian for a job, is that racist? So what if a woman gets a spot at a school that you didn't? Or maybe a transgendered man does? What if a person in a wheelchair gets hired instead of you, what then? Where does your opinion of affirmative action being racist stand?

While memberships to the NAACP is not only restricted to black people, I believe white people did have an organization that meant you had to be white to join. It was called the KKK. I have always thought the the English language is lacking where "racism" is concerned because "racism" is such a broad catch-all.

We do have other words: bigoted and prejudiced -- but I think we could use some new ones so as not to describe a violent supremacist the same way we describe Joe Sixpack who resents Latino construction workers.
