Its not even history yet.

You should be aware of current events, why should Conseravtives constantly have to bring your sorry ass up to speed on things

quote:

Boot now on Obama's throat: And it will stay there until he stands up to BP.

The question is not whether President Obama spoke inappropriately by saying that he wants to "know whose ass to kick" for the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. The question is why Mr. Obama hasn't started kicking.

It has been seven weeks since the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded and sank, time enough for the Obama administration to explain the rules of the game to British Petroleum. On Tuesday, however, Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen sent a plaintive letter to BP CEO Tony Hayward, asking for "complete, ongoing transparency" regarding the company's system for paying claims. Adm. Allen is national incident commander for the government's response to this environmental catastrophe, but in the letter he sounded more like someone playing the child's game Mother May I. "I appreciate your attention to this matter," he wrote to Mr. Hayward.

From that tone, you never would guess that Mr. Hayward is the stonewaller who first claimed that the leak wouldn't be a big deal because "it's a big ocean out there," denied the existence of underwater oil clouds that could damage the gulf for years and still refuses to allow outside access that could determine objectively how much oil is gushing from the well and how much is being captured. On Tuesday, Adm. Allen placed the daily leak at between 12,000 barrels and 25,000 barrels. BP's early estimate had been 4,000.

Two days after the explosion, a BP vice president noted the potential for a "major spill." At that moment, Mr. Obama should have issued an executive order placing the military in charge of the response. Such an order would not have presumed that the government had the technical expertise to plug the leak, but the order would have been the "boot on the throat" of BP that Mr. Obama and members of his administration used as the bumper-sticker slogan to show the White House's engagement...

It's just like the government told Bobby Jindal, "Don't build your sand berms, we're worried about where you're going to get the sand."  This is highly suspicious.  And the media, they're perplexed, too. They don't really know who is responsible for the delay.  Why don't you just go straight to the horse's mouth and ask Obama?  'Cause it's his decision.  Obama says he's the man in charge here.  Go ask him.  This is another version of the story, two different AP writers on the same story: "The plan to start choking off oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico was suddenly halted as government officials and BP said further analysis must be done today before critical tests could proceed."  No explanation was given for the decision.  No date was set for when testing would begin on the new tighter fitting cap that BP installed on Monday.  In the meantime, oil continued spewing into the Gulf.  Just what they want.  I guess the answer might have something to do with cap and trade.  How can Obama and Thad Allen allow BP to stop the leak before Harry Reid brings cap and trade to the floor of the Senate for debate and passage?  What would Rahm Emanuel say?  "You are wasting a good crisis here.  We're not going to fix this leak.  If we fix this leak, we don't have a chance of getting cap and trade passed."

We shouldn't have to cite current events. If you're really this ignorant then bow your heads in shame, and hush while the grownups talk about the important matters.

Current events are from June 9th?

But more to the point, was it not you and other conservatives complaining that BP was being extorted when the administration required them to set up the liability fund?

Oh, come now, let us sit and reason together.  You cite a current event from the liquid ass of one rush limbaugh the drug addicted shitbreather, that is as usual 100% incorrect, and is in the matter of a couple of hours proven just as wrong and malum in se as everything you post out here.

Then you go on to call others who actually try to understand the issues rather than masturbate to your master rushes voice..and further multiplying the opera bouffe, charactarize them as ignorant.

Cmon, Tom....I will not do you the disservice of beliving you to be serious, or well informed on the matter.

Jeffff -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 6:27:25 AM)

GWB took 866 vacation days while in office.

866......... the war on terror must really tire a guy out.

You would think after awhile sanity and wilbur would realize all of the abuse they are taking would cease if they simply stopped posting.

I think they might be subby masochists.

I searched for the golfshoes part in quotes by obama that you so clearly remember, and it seems that you can't separate yellow journalism style opinions and catchphrases from fact, so uhhhhhhhh

DUH?

I do remember when Bush said that he was having a good time robbing the treasury of the united states and performing illegal acts and he and every republican was a closet nazi though, it was around christmas the year that he was vacationing in crawford while he invaded iraq.  I am sure you must have that same recollection, Mr. Current Events.

(and let me sorta help you thru the fog here, Tom...there actually were no bumper stickers)

I SO love when someone posts utter garbage (OP) and it degenerates into the same old name-calling and personal attacks. This thread should have died 2 pages ago. Or better yet, it should have been completely ignored. I know, wishful thinking.

Putting your woeful ignorance and you petty personal attacks aside for a while mnot, heres a direct quote from Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel:

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that its an opportunity to do things that you'd think you could not do before."

And high on the Dem agenda? Demonizing business and industry and pushing extreme environmental laws through Congress that will further wreck our economy.

So why would this administration want that well capped - thats a waste of a serious crisis, especially if its capped before they can put it to good use.

You are such a pud. Do you have any friends?

Jeffff -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 6:42:34 AM)

Ok, like all good Chief of Staff's Rahm is a dick, no argument there.

Do you really believe they didn't want the leak plugged?.... REALLY?

mnottertail -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 6:45:16 AM)

Didnt see golf shoes in that one either, so you are still extremely ill advised, if not out and out singularly untutored, and other than that, whats wrong with that notion, politically?

If there wasn't a secession from the union, there would still be slavery today in the US.  Now, after all this time of championing the Reagan deficits, and the country is in crisis financially, we are finally talking about doing something.

Don't nobody get off their ass to change bad things that happen in this country until there is a crisis of gargantuan proportions.

Sanity -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 6:52:14 AM)

Sure, the story is a bit of a spoof, its a play on the way Obama appoints radicals who go around like loose canons saying shit like, don't waste a serious crisis. So you have to suspect every move they make when a crisis develops and takes strange turns. They had that cap ready to go and didn't put it on. They stopped a lot of the work that different people were trying to do in the Gulf to minimize the damage..

This administration is packed with goofballs. Inexperienced or stupid or radical beyond words... its just a clown show, and people are catching on to that fact. They're already admitting they're probably going to lose the House, they're just praying they can hold on to the Senate.

Not at all the case, Tom.  The feds wanted an integrity test of the well casing to insure it wouldnt blow the weakened wellhead out.  And what work underway by different people that was minimizing damage was stopped?

You gotta learn to separate fact and fiction.
