Not at all the case, Tom.  The feds wanted an integrity test of the well casing to insure it wouldnt blow the weakened wellhead out.  And what work underway by different people that was minimizing damage was stopped?

You gotta learn to separate fact and fiction.

domiguy -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 7:05:26 AM)

Look odd job, Rham is correct. How you respond to a crisis is the mark of the man.

Bush took all of the Goodwill generated from 9-11 and pissed it away on a needless war....It kept him in da house for 4 extra years. Bully to him.

How is someone supposed to respond to an event that the government has no power to fix?

Should they have done more that was in their control? Absolutely. They should have reacted faster with the skimmers.

They have set up (STRONG ARMED) a large cash fund from BP to aid those affected by the spill.

All in all the administration has done about all that they could...They get a "C"........

I was waiting for some secretary to walk across the picture of the capped well "blue screen."

mnottertail -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 7:05:42 AM)

Its a hegelian dialectic, and believe me, HC or RE were not the first ones to utter that little jingo.

This administration is packed with goofballs. Inexperienced or stupid or radical beyond words... its just a clown show, and people are catching on to that fact.

What, like the last administration, you mean? The one that was headed by a draft dodging cokehead who was more interested in giving federal sinecures to his mates and spending time on his ranch than in actually doing anything?

mnottertail -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 7:10:32 AM)

that didnt answer the question, it is what is called circular logic.

Sanity -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 7:13:02 AM)

Maybe some day the far left can point to some accomplishments in defense of Barack Obama, rather than George Bush.

No terrorist attacks.  That in and of itself should be sufficient. But for you a little lagniappe, 12 russian spys, operating during the bush administrations sent packing.  I will not embarrass you further.

The "far left" like Obama even less than you do, sonny. He's hardly Joe Hill, is he?

mnottertail -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 7:31:35 AM)

LOL, other than using like instead of likes I would have sworn you to be a typical barbrawling yank politico.

You have come far, grasshopper.

Putting your woeful ignorance and you petty personal attacks aside for a while mnot, heres a direct quote from Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel:

"You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that its an opportunity to do things that you'd think you could not do before."

And high on the Dem agenda? Demonizing business and industry and pushing extreme environmental laws through Congress that will further wreck our economy.

So why would this administration want that well capped - thats a waste of a serious crisis, especially if its capped before they can put it to good use.

Of course no one has ever heard that quote before.

And it has been explained many times to you, but as always, you keep posting it ad nauseum.

domiguy -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 7:34:23 AM)

20 billion "extorted" from BP. No major depression and two American car companies paying employees and still banging out autos. The first attempt at getting health insurance reform which is mandatory if we want to stay competitive in a global marketplace.

Obama was fucked the moment he stepped into office. There was "zero" chance for success no matter what course of action was taken.

I am not exactly thrilled with his Presidency but I don't think anyone else would have us currently enjoying any better of a situation.

Although we do spar out here, the invite always stands for a beer if you find yourself in my neck of the woods.

Sanity -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 7:34:45 AM)

Obamas losing the far left, the left, and the middle isn't he. Maybe thats because your best and only defense of him is falling back on your ugly lies and rhetoric about Bush.

Which, Obamas presidency looks a lot like Bushs to many people.

Does it? Which ugly buildings in New York got knocked over since the start of last year, then?

HCR
The stimulus pacjage that kept this a recession rather than a complete collapse.
Student Loan reforms.
The financial reform package that just got passed.
SEC just recovered $550 million from Goldman Sachs for its part in selling a single toxic secuirty.
Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act
etc.

This young lady says it better than I

866......... the war on terror must really tire a guy out.

Hey wasn't it W that was warned specifically about a planed attack on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon while he was on a gulf course? Huh...I'm glad he took it seriously.

boi

Moonhead -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 8:39:20 AM)

I don't know if they warned him specifically: they might have thought it'd be more productive to mention it to Cheney or Powell.
The CIA were hip that OBL was up to something big, but for some reason Bush's new cabinet wasn't very interested. The conspiracy nuts have made a biggish deal of that for some reason or other.

I think the big deal is that ship hull they fund at the World Trade Centers site. There's nothing else that big there...anymore.

boi

Moonhead -> RE: Regime to BP: Don't Plug the Hole (7/16/2010 8:45:34 AM)

I thought they found the ship hull at Roswell?
