Werent you Liberals / Leftists first in line to criticize Bush for his vacation time?

quote:

ORIGINAL: DomKen

Yeah no other first family has ever taken a vacation. All those years "W" spent away from the White House were free.

So is Obama on vacation............?

Nope.................Sucker.[:D]

So even thought it`s his wife and kids going............somehow you`re going after the President.

What we have here folks is another case of Obama Derangement Syndrome.[:D]

And really, that's all that really matters.[&:]

Yeah, going after the wife and kids is a pretty cheap shot.

For someone such as yourself that depends entirely on if theyre Rs or Ds

Off the top of my head I can recall threads focusing on three "scandals" which involved Conservatives having nice things and how awful that was:

There was Cindy McCains' clothes and jewelry (059 started this one):

The McCains' houses:

And Sarah Palins wardrobe:

#5 is the best one.

[:D]

Well done.

Can't imagine why this thread made me think of that cartoon.

And why, at the time, didn't you start any threads criticizing such extravagance?

Or at least join in the disapproval? You're coming late to the anti-elitist party.

Its kind of like a Rorschach test. Youre such a deep thinker that everything makes you think of cartoons...

No, I think it was more the hysterical partisan whining about something that barely matters, to be honest.

Sanity -> RE: While Obama Preaches Sacrifice & Rails Against "Fat Cat" Businessmen (8/9/2010 6:41:16 AM)

Its not the extravagance, its the hypocrisy. Whats the last time you heard Cindy McCain angrily denounce "fat cat" bankers for example, the way Barack Obama has. How many threads have Conservatives started about evil rich people...

The wealth is fine. Enjoying it is fantastic - but please, dont be such hypocrites about it.

All that noise about John Kerry's yacht doesn't count, then? You'd think Kerry had abducted poopy's mother and cut her up for organ transplants to raise the money for it, the way he was carrying on...

mnottertail -> RE: While Obama Preaches Sacrifice & Rails Against "Fat Cat" Businessmen (8/9/2010 6:44:22 AM)

Al Gore....Kennedy's....  meh, horseshit apiece, eh?

Moonhead -> RE: While Obama Preaches Sacrifice & Rails Against "Fat Cat" Businessmen (8/9/2010 6:45:55 AM)

I was forgetting Gore, true enough.

Sanity -> RE: While Obama Preaches Sacrifice & Rails Against "Fat Cat" Businessmen (8/9/2010 6:52:19 AM)

That one also focused on liberal hypocrisy, didnt it.

Still more liberal hypocrisy.... Al Gore preaches "save the planet" and "global warming we're all gonna die, aaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!"  while buying the biggest mansions he can find.

And the Kennedys are no better.

Where is the hypocrisy?

If you can't afford to play in Vegas don't play there.  If you want to take people for a ride on the upside, but then make the same people pay for your downside...there is the hypocrisy.

The law, in its majestic equality, forbids the rich as well as the poor to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal bread.

At numerous and various points of their campaigns McCain and Palin both claimed to be able to represent, understand, and govern for, the ordinary American. This was as blatantly hypocritical as what you claim the Obamas to be.

I applaud your new found disapproval of elitism, I share it, but be consistent.

You're going to be busy, our political system isn't exactly socioeconomically representative.

Sanity -> RE: While Obama Preaches Sacrifice & Rails Against "Fat Cat" Businessmen (8/9/2010 7:02:14 AM)

You still dont get it? I dont care about the wealth, so long as youre not telling me you feel that wealthy people are greedy and that you feel you need to cap what I can earn.

McCain and Palins claims about representing ordinary Americans is a red herring, I doubt the claims were even made the way you represent for one and for two they never attacked people for having wealth like Obama constantly does, so no (sorry) but theyre not comparable in any way.

No doubt you also are interested in pointing out that the presidents views are not truthfully represented in the way you represent them.

And you would have a hell of an arguement there Tom, if you had anything right about it.

But it is an energumenical argument, not at all in context nor associated with truth.
