Its our business because theyre the first family. Theres also the little fact that if it were a Republican president in there every little thing that was done would be heavily scrutinized and thoroughly criticized... Why should the Obamas get any different treatment than a Republican first family would.

does anybody tell you how to spend your paycheck?[8\|] if he wants to send his wife and daughters on vacation- guess what: he can do that- its his right to do so. want to talk about sacrifice? (and this includes ALL presidents) he can't go anywhere with tons of security following him and his family everywhere. he can't go to the McDonalds down the street if he wants to(but i've been to that one, not sure why anybody would), he can't go on vacation in peace if he wants to. he cant have his wife take his daughters on vacation without somebody pressuming that there are problems in the relationship- on a grand scale. everything going on in a president's PERSONAL life(which many people believe they are ENTITLED to know everything about) is blown up beyond immagination. sure, he signed up for the job- all of them did. but peace of mind is sacrificed above all.

To a certain extent when one thrusts him or herself into the spotlight as Obama has it is an open invitation for criticism, especially given the policy speeches he has made to millions and millions of people. Obama should be leading by example shouldnt he, as he is in that spotlight. But instead he and his do exactly the opposite of what he espouses and so like it or not people are going to talk about it.

Stayed home a lot, and was mocked for his "Rose Garden" political run.

The guy needs to either shut his mouth about how the rest of the world and Americans spend their money or stop spending so much. If he weren't always talking down to people on how they spend their money, I don't think people like Sanity would get so pissed off. Hypocrisy is part of being human, but it still pisses us off.
