Why should I care what a pedophile likes to read? Do you imagine that someone will read a CM posting, get all excited, and assualt some child? By that logic, all sexual discussion should be banned, as it will lead to increased sexual assaults.

Cant we not just live and let live. It s not ok to ask others do they have kids. Let them tell you if they want to. If they dont want to its obviously not appropriate. Situations differ your mileage will vary. If you know the person very well and are friends they might be ok with it but not straight off the bat to a stranger do you have kids, its just not appropriate. People's private personal lives are well PERSONAL and PRIVATE, they will divulge if they want, they will allow you to ask if you know them very very well and are very close friends but not if you dont know them from Adam and are not acquainted in any way except the fact that you are a member of collarme.

This has always amazed me. Do you suppose a pedophile will hang around an adult discussion group on the off chance that a topic of interest might crop up?

Or does it make more sense that a pedophile would hang around a place... i dunno... that might be full of kids?

I think we have far more to worry about. Children are a part of almost everyones lives. No getting away from the 'critters'. Discussing children on this site doesnt have to lead to talks of pedophilia.

Thankfully we have attentive Mods to ensure we dont go too far astray.

I agree too, for the most part. I think an exception is when one talks about oneself when young. Even then, we should be very careful. Who needs unnecessary trouble?

I care. And if I see pedo-wank or pedo-style-adverts on CM I report it. It violates TOS, and my own sense of morals. Those postings are always, and I mean always, removed by the MODS.

Back in the day (6 years ago or so), the TOS regarding discussing children on CM was even stricter.

Oh, and that whole "slippery slope" argument that "banning one thing will ban everything" isn't "logic". It's just argument.
