That was just plain funny as hell!

Just so that's not a hijack, I'll answer the original.  I'm actually less likely to want furry.  MP has darn near zero chest hair and that's always been My preference.  I make clip shave his off just due to the fact that I don't like the smell of burnt hair if I want to play with fire and I don't want the complications with wax.

Weight isn't as much of an issue.  The two of them are actually rather different in height and build.

Doesn't hafta be skinny or athletic etc and certainly not a stressed and ill-tempered diet-nazi, but I just don't accept an implied message that it's now ok for women to stuff themselves at will because society says that's ok. .

I wonder if genetics, the way our food is raised and processed and how our bodies metobalize these foods have anything to do with our respective weights. I am not saying all, but some people are not over-indulgent, we are just above average.

I think western culture in particular is a huge factor. Because we're able, we tend to over-indulge in just about everything.

People were rightly concerned about the negative body image message being sent to young girls in particular from the proliferation of scrawny, rib-popping "super models". (lol, if ever the word "super" could be more bastardised....). We came to know words like 'anorexia' (sp?) because of it. Girls see a "thin is beautiful" message and try to mimic such a difficult standard, including starving themselves to death in extreme cases. Not good...!

What prompted me to post in this thread is how often I see 'BBW' come up in a sub's screen name or profile everytime I log into CM. That or it's a pic showing an obviously expanded size. Waaaay too many to just write off as genes or the old "gland problems". And don't get me started on how often I see young ones getting about with rolls of skin bulging out between impossibly tight short skirts and half tops now. If ever there's a need for fashion police to be introduced....

But I wonder if this is all to the propoganda success of terms like "BBW" - because this latest generation of chubbies certainly don't seem to have "super model" body image issues.... And it's not like they have to torture and deny themselves - stuff your face to your heart's content AND be socially acceptable and fashionable; win/win (apparently).

It (the term BBW) isn't a bad thing at all, esp for those who can't be something they're simply not. And there are certainly those specifically attracted to a particualr shape and size - supply meets demand etc, another example of Nature's balance. I just think the pendulum has now swung too far off centre, that some feel socially excused (even justified) from showing a little restraint.

I hate tattoos on women with a passion. But they're not tattoos anymore, they've been sanitised and legitimised with terms like "body art". Seems like it's all a matter of finding the right label to attach. <shrugs>

Why do we have to attach a label at all? Why can't we just be people/human/wonderous living beings?

Really? I am surprised you feel this way, especially since you show such repulsion for larger sized women, I would think you would be a fan of starving oneself.

What prompted me to post in this thread is how often I see 'BBW' come up in a sub's screen name or profile everytime I log into CM. That or it's a pic showing an obviously expanded size.

Again, your judgement on what is considered an expanded size.[/b]

Waaaay too many to just write off as genes or the old "gland problems".

And now you are a doctor?[/b]

And don't get me started on how often I see young ones getting about with rolls of skin bulging out between impossibly tight short skirts and half tops now.

And it never occurs to you that these young ones possess body confidence and self worth?

If ever there's a need for fashion police to be introduced....

I am sure you are fasion expert of the highest caliber.[/b]

But I wonder if this is all to the propoganda success of terms like "BBW" - because this latest generation of chubbies certainly don't seem to have "super model" body image issues.... And it's not like they have to torture and deny themselves - stuff your face to your heart's content AND be socially acceptable and fashionable; win/win (apparently).

Interesting. You think it is currently propaganda, huh? I got news for you buddy. I was a plus size model back in the day. During the 70's, the term BBW was coined not as propaganda, but within the fashion industry to define a new fashion paradigm, the plus size woman of fashion. Bigger women now have all the options available to thinner women and designers of all ilks are following through, it was developed as a business issue, not a sociological issue. The world at large, no pun intended, grabbed onto the term BBW simply for online dating descriptors.

And how would YOU know what these women go through, torturing and denying themselves? I find it incrediblly arrogant that you make such assumptions.

When I was doing my modeling, for over ten years, I observed behind the scenes activity. There was huge amount of anorexia and drug use going on with the thin models, who were actually more self destructive than the heavier models. There were heavier models who despite being stunningly gorgeous (enough to be paid quite a bit) were still influenced by society's prejudice and cruel comments, and had low self esteem.

I actually got out of modeling to concentrate on my regular career and because I was sick of having to see such emotionally destructive behavior from all types of beautiful women.

It (the term BBW) isn't a bad thing at all, esp for those who can't be something they're simply not.

What are they "simply not"? Beautiful? Are you serious? There are a tremendous amount of beautiful big women and thin women. There are also women of either size who are not beautiful, but since it is in the eye of the beholder, they can call themselvs whatever they like and don't answer to you.

And there are certainly those specifically attracted to a particualr shape and size - supply meets demand etc, another example of Nature's balance.

Rolls eyes.[/b]

I just think the pendulum has now swung too far off centre, that some feel socially excused (even justified) from showing a little restraint.

Jeez, arrogant much? ?

I do hope you get over your horror of anything that you dislike; but I doubt at your age that will be happening any time soon. It is also interesting how much thought you have devoted to a section of women you have no interest in.[/b]

Warnings are bullshit.  You can't avoid people with inferiority complexes, they are everywhere and come in all shapes and sizes.

Not every fat or skinny chic has an inferiority complex.  Some are emotionally healthy and very sexy...  it's all in your attitude baby.  All types/shapes of people get inferiority complexes, big tits, little tits, skinny white bread, big phat ass like a sister . . .  full lips, thin lips. . . etc.

daddysliloneds -> RE: Big Beautiful Women. As well as Large Handsome Men. (9/3/2010 1:13:31 PM)

i wish someone would tell 'armour' that it's all in the attitude; i miss their old hot dog jingle:

fat kids, skinny kids, kids that climb on rocks...

tough kids, sissy kids, even kids with chicken pox love hot dogs...

armour hot dogs; the dogs kids love to bite[:D]

Aileen1968 -> RE: Big Beautiful Women. As well as Large Handsome Men. (9/3/2010 3:09:51 PM)

I try very hard to maintain a healthy weight. I have a huge family history of high cholesterol and heart disease.
My mother died of a heart attack at 62. I do not want to follow in her footsteps.
I also have extremely high cholesterol which only goes up if I gain weight.

That being said...I'm much more attracted to people who are fit and choose healthy things to eat over crap and who choose an active lifestyle over a sedentary one.

I also have no problem if the person sitting next to me or across the room or wherever is overweight as it doesn't impact my life in any way, shape or form.
