I was talking to my vanilla friend last night about "daddies" and she "got it". This is my personal experience, my vanilla friends tend to have less judgment than "lifestyle" people, mind you, my friends tend to be culturally relativistic by the very nature of what they do for a living, but nonetheless, they have more acceptance for me than what I have seen here. Now if you think you can turn that around based upon a thread on an kink message board, go you! Personally, I doubt very highly that this is going to happen. If you read the most judgmental on this thread, they are usually the ones that have been around here the longest, and have had ample time to understand others based upon what they read here.
Edited to add, I shouldn't say I get "little" understanding, because that is not exactly true, more that I know there will be many people who will never "get it", think I am "creepy", and refuse to try to "understand"... and all the threads in the world are not going to change this, and threads like this are an open invitation to say "Those people are creepy"
