As in one that you have no idea how others could enjoy it....

If any that is. I'm just naturally curious.

Personally I love diapers/age-play, but cannot understand the swingers one bit. It's not that I disgust it, I just do not understand it.

I have trouble understanding many fetishes but I am a live and let live type of person, my guess is that they are a learned response to an experience in ones life.

I wouldn't say there are fetishes that I don't understand. I think other people's fetishes are to them what My turn ons are to Me. There are some kinks that I'm pretty sure aren't going to come off of My hard limit list after all of this time. Roman showers, scat, and anything to do with mixing BDSM and amateur dentistry come immediately to mind. (I'm actually a wimp about that last one.) Of course, there is the stuff on the list that I can't even mention due to TOS. Those things, I probably do have to admit that I am repulsed by. I get the concept as the same, but My stance on living beings that can not (due to inability) give consent taking precedent over a fetish is definitely higher on the list.

My very first public introduction into wiitwd came at what now would be called an 'event'. It was good to see the gamut, all in my first day. There was a gorgeous woman there who I was told shortly after had been born a man. I sorta-kinda made up my mind right there that if in later life I met a 'fully all the way operations and all completed' TS and I was 'that' attracted to her .... yeah, I'd go there.

The only thing that was a little unsettling for me, not that I overreacted or anything, was the AB in full getup, pacifier and all, with the big ol' honkin' mustache.

I think the fetishes that are most difficult to understand are the ones that don't disgust most people, but which leave them utterly baffled. Of all of these, I think service is the most incomprehensible . . . and I'm someone who gets turned on by it!

I mean why - *why* - would someone get turned on by serving someone? It's nutty!

Not to take the conversation off in a different direction, but I wanted to say about Service...it's not the "Service" that's the turn on...it's the "subtext" involved in the mental process of the sub, and the (at least for me) electrically charged interaction with the Dominant that is the turn on.

For me, I was made to feel like a screwup a lot of my young life, and having someone tell you exactly what to do, then purposefully rewarding you for it, is a way for me to not screw up. I can do things right and get fairly quick feedback, and that's very appealing. Plus I feel useful!

I think I have a 'jealousy' fetish and that is one I can't understand.

P.S. I'm not sure swinging qualifies as a fetish based on the definition.

Yes, it's totally creepy. Those of us who participate in it are creepy. And wow, if we participate while speaking Roman - whoa, TOTALLY creepy.

As for what I don't understand? How about threads that just seem like an opportunity to criticize what people do.

I guess I think different things are creepy because I don't understand them, or I'm just not into it.

I do agree that Daddy/babygirl does sound kinda creepy when one might look at it as an incest kinda thing. However, this is an example of one of many things that lots of people just lump everything under one label. I engage in age play but it's not sexual. I'm always a woman during those intimate times. Just a couple of thoughts. Some people may link it to the concept of slavery in which the slave is not permitted to have financial assets. Others want the humiliation angle of wanting to feel that the other person doesn't want them unless they pay for the privilege. Others still get off on having no control over their finances. There's also the deity angle.

Funny thing about fetishes, kinks, or dynamics that have anything to do with money. There's a lot of gender bias on this one. Folks don't often say much if it's a Master/slave dynamic and the Master takes control of finances. Make that Mistress/slave and suddenly, it's no longer a valid kink.

I echo what LadyPact has already said.

The scat and roman shower thing for me, just makes my stomach roll over in a very bad way. My sense of smell is too keen for me to get turned on with the smell of shit or vomit wafting in my nose.
