I suppose the title says it all... what is the weirdest thing that ever happened to you?

1. There are times when i knew in advance that something was going to happen. My teacher picking a word at random, winning a contest or raffle, once when we were robbed at work; my cat getting hit by a car.

2. i had to walk 40 miles home from work, once.

3. i lived in my car for several years, by choice.

4. i split my chin open as a child and had to go to the ER to get stitches. The doctor strapped me onto this backboard thing, so i couldn't move. He told me i was like a little papoose. Then he stitched me up, but i don't think he waited long enough for the local anasthesia to kick in, because i could feel him sewing the stitches, and i was screaming. It was the middle of the night, and afterwards, my dad took me to get a candy car. i felt like i was in trouble, or something. It was pretty surreal.

5. Winning the school science fair in the 5th grade. Walking past the tables and seeing a big red ruffley ribbon on my project. Having everyone in school talking about me for days afterwards.

6. Watching my hamster give birth. Watching my guinea pig give birth. One of the hamster babies died, and the mother ate it.

7. Watching my cat run outside into snow for the first time.

8. Getting my wisdom teeth out. Going under anasthesia, and then waking up half a second later, only to realise that it had actually been longer than half a second.

9. Seeing my grandmother die.

10. puberty

That is powerful.

(I am also very much impressed by your writing skills, having just now read your latest journal entry. Publishable in my opinion. So write a story or novel.)

I made a wish. Then later I 'died' and as a consequence became a supergenius.

as of recent memory allows- i caused a six car accident. Nobody was hurt, thankfully. However, what makes it weird is that i wasn't driving, and wasn't in the street. i was walking my dog on the sidewalk at 7 in the morning on a breezy day while wearing a school girl plaid skirt. i laughed after i found out that all were ok. I'm probably going to hell for that.

I came close to cutting my thumb off when i was younger.  They put localized anesthesia around my thumb but you could still "feel" the stitching, i just didnt feel any pain.  But that is a weird feeling.  Funny thing is they had to stich my tendon back together and to this day when i touch my thumb to the bottom of my pinky finger the tip of my index finger folds down.  Try it.

Also got a piece of metal lodged under my finger nail, again localized anesthesia, the scraped underneath my finger nail with a scalpel, i could feel it, but no pain.  Looked at it for a minute and almost passed out.

About the wisdom teeth.  That is pretty weird, they put you out and then it seems like a second later youre awake again.  But your mouth is stuffed with cotton.

Ah yes, I caused a traffic jam when I was young. Got my hair dyed red and walked down the street. Cars and trucks stopped dead while the drivers leaned out their windows staring at me and avowing eternal love, or temporary lust!

The other weird thing is that no one ever believes me when I say I am very susceptible to anesthesia. I've surfaced briefly after surgery to discover they're all upset I haven't yet woken up. And when I had a colonoscopy the last thing I remember is the doctor assuring me I just had to mention it to get more anesthesia. I have no memory of afterwards until I woke up in my own bed with no knowledge of how I got dressed, into the car, out of the car and up the steps to my room.

There have been several weird things which have happened to me. But, since I am looking down at my foot I will say this one:
I was upset because of a youthful breakup with my boyfriend, and it was on my mind as I entered my kitchen. There was a coke bottle sitting on the counter about 3 inches from the wall and no where near the ledge. I opened the cabinet next to the one with the bottle beneath, grabbed a glass and closed the door.. and the coke bottle fell off the countertop and shattered as it hit the floor. A shard of glass pierced my left foot just below my center toe. I still have the scar.

Ild be afraid to confide that.

Joining this site is weird.  Then not telling anyone.   and the few I do tell it never comes up again.

My sister flooded hers twice, both times the carpet had to be replaced and her house was new. She left the house with the tub running. Then she was doing yard work while the tub was running. She quit taking baths...lol

Considering the looks of astonishment I get when talking about it, I am going to have to say the weirdest thing that ever happened has been.......my life.

Okay... I have had some weird things happen to me, but the weirdest thing I can think of just happened...

I have been legally married since 1989, we separated in 1991. We never divorced, although both of us almost wanted to get married again a few times in 19 years. I have not seen him in 18 years because he lives in another state and my son would go there to see him. We hardly spoke, although we have been "friendly" over the phone when we did...

Last week we started talking, and now I am going up there for Thanksgiving. We are talking about the possibility of reconciling...

I think this is weirder than anything else I have thus far read on this thread..... please, someone try to beat it

Yanno, call me crazy but I don't see this as weird. Interesting and unusual but not really all that surprising. I've know people in similar situations.

We are not the same people that we were 20 years ago. That can be a good thing or not. If the ex-not-ex, expects you to be the same woman you were then, and visa versa.....it's not good. However, since you've a son together and obviously have communicated regularly and probably spent time together for your son, you likely know one another fairly well. In a sense, you've grown up together, just not wholly together. How that plays out actually being together, only time will tell.

I suppose there is a lot of truth to those observations. We both grew up... and I really like who he has become. We both had a lot of promise long ago, even though we blossomed separately.

It still feels really weird to me, in a good way mind you...lol.
