not hypocritical at all. This thread started with "this rally had more people than that rally". Ok, well the pictures don't show that.

I went on to say that while there shouldn't be a competition, the media has made it one. It's also the media with an agenda. They also treat us like we are idiots. I watched the rally yesterday. I could tell there were over 150,000 people. I also watched Becks rally. And I could CLEARLY see there were over 150,000 people there. Even HuffPo put the number higher than CBS. Actually, every report on the rally I read put the number higher than CBS.

I dont recall Huffington making a perdiction on the size, but rather stating the other prediction sources and what they claimed the size to be. Mind providing a link to that?

wellll what a fusss over a "yay" damn the audacity of me, damn the partisanship I show..damn the favouritism.

All the rallies this year have garned numerous pages of guesstimates, comments, bets and partisanship.
Becks rally drew seven pages, the next rally drew four, the thread announcing the colbert rally had five pages before it even happened... Why wouldnt I follow it up?
Becks wasnt supposed to be a political rally, neither was this one. Did I mention left or right in my first three posts? NO
Some of the posts regarding this rally were that people wouldnt show up, others were worse
Well they did and they had a bloody good time, I enjoyed watching it second hand on c-span.
Am I taking pleasure in the numbers there??? hell yes

Was I uplifted by everyone having a good time, oh ya
Wanting to see all those people jump up and down at "once" from jamie and adams perspective
Is my heart happier seeing the fun and NO gloom and doom, Id have to be stupid not to be
and despite many peoples opinions, I am NOT stupid

Just to clear things up, everyone who's used any kind of sensible method to calculate crowd sizes has come up with 80-90k for the religious guy and ~220k for the ironic guy. Every fuckwit involved with any event claims the crowd was much larger than in reality, just ignore it. And I'm not even american, so don't shout bias. Now put your dicks away. Nobody sensible cares.

One of the guys i work with went (lucky bastard).. anyways, according to him, they had to leave because it was so crowded. Many like him went to the local bars, taverns and restaurants to watch the event on TV.

Let's start with the simple fact that he decided that the crowd Saturday ended before it got to the Washington Monument. Anyone who actually watched the stream saw crowd shots all the way back to the base of the monument. Which blows the douches estimate of the number of square feet involved out of the water.

Actually, given the thread title, and the fact that the linked article was about how many people were there and that she quoted the part of the linked article that said there were more people at this rally than at Beck's, I would have to disagree with you and agree with Firm here. The "Yay" certainly seems to me (and did so when I first read the OP) to be celebrating the fact that more people supposedly attended the Stewart/Colbert rally.
