Moon- try to focus on the topic- the big picture.

3x the fees is an outrage.  It means the system is broke.  It is not business as usual.

It means everything changes.

That isn't the topic. The topic was violence at the protests about a tuition fee raise which wasn't close to a tripling of the fees in most cases.

As you appear to be too stupid to grasp this, I'll put it in simple terms for you. The fee raise has nothing to do with the strength (or otherwise) of the pound. Fees are being raised because the Government has cut funding to the universities. Thus this isn't proof that the pound has sank forever, however much that you'd like it to be. The raise in fees bears no relations to the international value of the pound, which hasn't dropped to a third of its value since last week.

Simple enough for you to get your pointy little head around, or do I need to put a video explaining it with puppets in monasyllables on youtube for you?

Which proves that your government is incompetent, and yous are incapable of governing yourselves- of which many is govt have degrees from this failed University system.

A product of the Universities- can not manage the country or the school system.

The best we can hope for is one of those degrees so that we the people can mis-manage the grid.

See?

That's the best you can manage after ten minutes scratching your head?
Pathetic.

If you don't understand how the funding for the British university education system works, I suggest that you try not to talk about it. You'll look like less of an idiot.
(One final clue: whatever problems are there, they have fuck all to do with Wall Street employing innumerate financiers. You still haven't apologised for spouting a load of irrelevant bullshit about that, have you?)

Moon, do you have anything constructive to add to the thread?

Feel like answering any of the questions I've asked, or demonstrating even the most rudimentary grasp of UK politics, while we're talking about constructive additions?

We wont get me started on the grip of the Crown.

Either way- yous are screwed.   Sold out. Outsourced.  Game over.

The sooner you understand the mess- the more likely a solution can be found.

Instead you want to relive the past- relive the same worn out formulas that do not work... and work even less today.

The politicians wont save you!      You are placing all your hope into infallible man.

This could be what happens when we turn our back on God.    Because if we did not- we would be embowered to check these imbalances.

The US is only slightly better positioned.  The system is coming down- it does not matter what I think- or you think- that is a fact.

Understand the game- as you will assist in picking up the pieces.   That is- those of us who live thru the nuclear war.

When, at any point in this thread, or anywhere else on this forum, have I ever said that I trust any of the two faced bastards to even do their job, let alone "save" me?

That's useful, then. I suppose if he had an early stage of cirrhosis, they could pick up on the traces of bile that weren't showing in his skin yet in the retinae.

Amazing stuff they can tell from just checking your eyes, certain changes in colours and all that can give early warnings to kidney, liver and heart problems, also iron deficiency can be seen in the eyes, Chinese medicine has been using the eye as a method of diagnosis for ages.

As for the stupid thing about losing your license due to debt, err nope, but you can lose your license for other crimes, for example if you assault somebody, they can decide that you are not to be trusted with a motorized vehicle as lack of self-control or anger management issues can make you a danger, even more of a danger if you got a bunch of horsepower and steel under your arse and you might drive it into somebody in a temper tantrum... Just checked with one of other half's friends who happens to be an attorney.

That said, I do understand why the students are pissed off, I'm still paying my student loans back and the people who are now in power all got their degrees. The whole big "rioting" thing, well of course the media shows only the rioters, won't get much interest to show peaceful protesters, people won't watch for very long, show the guys with masks raising hell (which are a tiny fraction of the student protesters), make it sound dramatic and you get more people tuning in.

Who else in this thread has even mentioned the Crown, you cretin? What the fuck does the Crown have to do with the universities?
The inside of your head is not like other places, is it? I'm imagining a drawing of the Gaza strip with the left half drawn by Jack Kirby and the right by Leo Baxendale...

Whatever happened to the 'top up' in top up fees?

That was the thin edge of the wedge I tells ya. Eventually the government waiter wass tilting the wine bottle of further education but the wine of knowledge wass no longer flowing.

I know there's a big thing about iridology, but I always thought that was your iris not your retina.

I wouldn't worry about that nonsense: idiot boy has spent most of the thread flaunting the fact that he's out there were the buses don't run...

As far as your first point goes, one thing it's worth mentioning (and which I'm sure somebody will have already) is that pretty much everybody in the Commons will have graduated back before tuition fees came in. I can understand students getting livid that people who had a free university education like Cassandra and his bitch are sticking them with another increase on the fees they didn't have to pay back in the early '90s. I'd be a bit peeved about that myself, to be honest.
