I don't know Lance.  I have had hotter sex in this red necked area- then I did in Chicago.

pa: go have some meds....... I put up the map that I found.

What that has to "do" with sex in general <and your sexual experience in particular> is totally beyond me.

AND use "than" where you wrote "then."

I moved out to the Nebraska/Wyoming area last September, and I can definitely say that midwesterners are just a tad odd. I came out from Michigan, and prior to that I traveled extensively up and down th east coast, and lived in California for several years before that.

It's hard to explain, but I've asked other refugees from Michigan, and they agree.

I never would have pegged you as a troll Jaybee but I can invite you to St. Louis. We could take a stroll on the north side and discuss your feelings on the local yokels with some locals and see what input they may have.

Butch.

< < = = = Born and raised in Chicago.  Until I moved to Denver at the age of 27, I did not leave the city proper for more than 2 weeks when I was on vacation at camp (which I hated. LOL!)  Many who speak of Chicago, really mean "Chicagoland" which includes many suburbs.  Chicago itself is two cultures - defined by geographical location of your favorite baseball team's stadium.  <last sentence written very carefully>

North-siders root for the Cubs, South-siders for the White Sox.

And to get back to OP:  To yanks about midwesterners....  Well, what cultural differences exist in London?  LOL!  That'll take a while to answer.  OR Are there any Welsh here who could give their impression of the Scottish?  <Stand back, gentle readers.  Stand back.>

The premise is that red necks do not have gay sex.  I am here to tell you they do and are freaken hot at it too!

So much for the stereo type that there are no gays-bis- bi curious in the small towns.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I hate it when I tell people that I'm from New York and then have to explain to them that I am not from NYC. Although I know it will never happen I fully endorse the idea that NYC should become it's own State and leave the rest of us alone (actually, the pretty much leave us alone anyway - except when election time rolls around, then they swing by to tell us that they understand the needs and concerns of upstate New York before they disappear again). I'll even let NYC keep the name New York and the rest of us can take a different name (I would suggest Cambria, which is what much of the region was called when the French owned it).

OMG YES!!!!!  I call NYC the armpit of NYS.....no offense to those NYC'ers, but I've also spent many years explaining to others that there IS a state above NYC.

And I don't think there's anyone who lives in upstate NY that wouldn't endorse NYC becoming it's on District.....we upstaters are so sick of all of our tax dollars going to NYC and no where else!  Counties upstate get very little return on tax dollars...NYC sucks them all up.  Let NYC leave the state, we won't miss it!  We'd actually come out ahead!

soul2share -> RE: Question to yanks about midwesterners.... (12/13/2010 12:26:16 PM)

awwww, shucks, Hlen....thank you!  *blushes*

I can't take credit for it tho....I swiped it from a buddy.  But it fits around here!

LanceHughes -> RE: Question to yanks about midwesterners.... (12/13/2010 12:29:17 PM)

I have always been intriguied by the following statistic (where I got it, I'm not sure....)

Square Miles:

Illinois:  57,918
Indiana: 36,420
           =====
Total:    94,338

UK:      94,251   <Yes, UK. Not Britian.>

Going the "other" way:

The state just larger than UK?

Michigan: 96,810 and there are 10 others larger yet.

The VAST square milage of US is 3,537,441 or 37.5 times larger (about) than the UK.  Dividing it into 9 sections / nations helps get a better handle on those broad cultural differences.  NO American would argue that Miami, Florida is in anyway the "same" as Detroit, Michigan.

Does this advocate for actual representation in say, the UN, for more votes (as it were)?  Absolutely NOT!   A large part of America's "strength" is that these 9 (actually 8 - since USA doesn't lap into Quebec) sub-countries ARE bound into one and CAN and DO share resources, abilities, culture and so on instead of trying to have genocides toward <?> purity.... what's that word that describes so many unfortunate civil wars?......

Anyway, the book is a useful tool for explaining (in the broadest terms) to the rest of the world how America "works."

That is the thing-  if one does not like one region- one can find something more fitting in another region.

and as far as NYC leaving NY-  parts of PA feel the same way in regards to Philly.

See me ignore his explanation?

I almost didn't rise to his bait, but this one got to me, mostly because it was addressed to me.

I actually had cut my response and then pasted it back in - just to see what he might have to say.

Actually, you know that the Welsh and Scottish usually get along just fine, let's say the Welsh, Irish, Scottish and Cornish have one thing in common, they all tend to dislike the English (my other half is Welsh), then you have a rather large Asian population, since I don't know the correct term for people with dark skin (can't call them African because a lot of them are Caribbean) lots of them too... I'd say London and NYC are pretty much alike, massive melting pots... And then of course you have Birmingham, the city in the UK where the whites (are we still allowed to say white - because black is now a forbidden word, even piano teachers can't call the black keys black anymore, the nursery rhyme Baa Baa Black Sheep has been outlawed - can you talk about PC weirdness?) are in the minority...

Don't be cruel, for him sex was possibly really note worthy, he must have been so afraid, being all by himself....

"Afro-caribbean" is the correct terminology for a negro here in the UK. "Black" is technically correct, and socially acceptable with all but the most sensitive souls.

I do know that y'all get along just fine (except for that N.Ireland thing you got going. -  YES!  I do know that [the Republic of] Ireland is NOT a part of UK.)

One can certainly conceive of a country called "The United States of Britain" comprising 4 states: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. (In alphabetical order.)

Wiki says: "Outside the country [USA], "Yankee" or "Yank" is slang for anyone from the United States. It is especially popular among Britons, and may sometimes be considered offensive, though it is by no means universally used pejoratively."

Thus, the OP question might be turned around to be "Do you Brits find the Welsh to be as stingy as their reputation?  I've been there on a student grant and after too many experiences in Wales of penny-pinching, I just had to ask."

Black is actually absolutely unacceptable now, check it out, a friend of mine is an Afro-Caribbean with VERY dark skin and a music and piano teacher, about a year ago she showed me an official memo that the ebony keys can't be called black keys anymore in music lessons as it is a "racist term", we both had a good laugh about it, especially when she asked me if I am alright with her calling me white or if she has to find another term for my skin colour.
