ORIGINAL: Charles6682 Well,New York state helped bail out NYC as well. Now that upstate NY economy is such a sham, maybe NYC can help bail out the rest of upstate NY.Sure, from those who never lived in upstate NY,you would think NYC is upstate NY saving grace.Well,it's not.The reality is upstate NY is stuck with insane high taxes because of NYC.NYC gets the majority of state revenue. So basically, upstate NY is basically paying NYC bill's.How is that helping the rest of NY state? Its not.People cant afford to live in NY state anymore.Jobs have left.Really, thanks NYC.Of course the tourist just love NYC.They somehow tend to forget that there is entire state just North of NYC.What does NYC care about anyways? They dont. They dont care about upstate NY or the rest of the USA for the fact. They are greedy people who only care about themselves. As long has NYC has what it want's,who cares about anyone else. Let's try that again: Blank after each puntuation mark When it is plural NOT an apostrophe, can't is short for can not so you use an apostrophe NYC possibly creates more tax revenue than Upstate, just a hunch but somebody might have the figures present. I have lived in Manhattan and I have lived in Ithaca, when the students are gone a bit of a ghost town. A lot cheaper than NYC to live, you don't need a lot of money to live in Upstate, though there aren't all that many jobs going. Tourism is a big factor in NYC, not just people coming for vacation and spending like crazy, hotels, shops, restaurants, the whole lot, then you have business travelers, you have Wall Street, you have the garment district, the Jewelers, a lot of the publishing industry is located in NYC, you have the Fashion week which creates millions in revenues... Without NYC that all would happen? You think people would go to Rochester?
