Well, if everyone who sent us email actually read and respected the personal boundaries we stated in our profiles, we wouldn't have to use extreme measures to exclude ourselves from their searches.

Sadly, the assholes we'd rather not hear from really don't care when we state things like not actively looking, just here to chat, happily married, a lesbian and not into men, etc, etc. They email with gross personal propositions anyway. The best way to avoid creeps like that is to make sure your search parameters don't fit, because they will not care what you write in your profile. Setting your age to maximum is actually a pretty useful tactic, and one of the few likely to actually work in reducing icky emails.

Also I did a quick check and set my age filter from 70 to 99 and set the states to all. I looked at about 60 profiles. Interestingly out of the 60 profiles I looked at only 2 stated they were not looking. I need to add this search was for Dominant women. So while some may use this as a filter I do not see this as the main reason while most set their age at 99.

It doesn't work in every case but the guys who think this is a swinger site usually search for a maximum age of 40 and the idea of some elderly lady does put them off. It won't stop the ones who will mail everybody because *they are online and female* but it eliminates a few of the guys who are just looking for a quick pickup.

mummy.. but you set your age range presumably AFTER this thread..

generally speaking, folks are going to set their parameters to the age range of choice, and at least somewhat locally.

the 99yr old thing will keep most out of the running.

Very bad presumtion on your part. Let me clarify. My age range has always been set to 38 to 99 (since 2005). As I stated originally age is not a big factor for me. I only changed it to 70 to 99 as a quick check to scan profiles and see how many 99 year olds who were actually seeking/looking. Like I stated I only came across 2 who were not out of about 60 that I read.

I do see your point. I did not think of it from that point of view. While I do not see age of 99 as an effective filter for those who are not looking. I can see how it is an effective filter for those looking but want to keep out the swingers and HNG's. I believe you are right that those groups of people are going to select age groups between 18 to 30 something.

It's not perfect, but it certainly does help. And sorry, but unless you've personally kept a young female profile on this site, you don't have the data to say whether or not it's an effective filter. We have, and it is.

You don't sound like the demographic we really want to avoid hearing from, the type of guy who is specifically looking for a young hottie and who will spam-slime every one he finds with graphic sexual requests. Are you the kind of guy that women on an adult site would be likely to want to block because you send them disgusting emails? If not, then your preferences and habits aren't relevant to this question because you're not the guy we're trying to filter. The guys we are trying to filter do quite often have age and weight parameters, so screwing those all up makes it less likely that this brand of asshole will find us in a search.

I'd venture to say that most male forum regulars don't fit in that category. I'm not talking about the guys who got themselves a shinny new CM account for Christmas/Hanukkah/Boxing Day who have thrown a post or two up on the boards who haven't figured out how not to be that category yet. It happens, sure, but it's rare. So rare that most could pull their names out of the thousands that have been members here. The clue on this is that they have the same type of reputation on the boards for being annoying and most folks won't deal with them anyway.

I'm very firm in My belief that most folks who visit the forums aren't that guy.

I am in a group all of my own LOL!

What LnT failed to read and the point I was trying to make was that using an age of 99 is not an effective filter for Dommes who are not looking and do not want to be contacted. I did agree with Lady Constanze (see my response to her) that I can see it being an effective filter for those who are looking and want to cut down on the HNG emails. I do not have to be a FemDom with a FemDom profile to prove my point. Simply set your age filter to 99 and look at who is looking and who is not looking. I think you will see the majority are looking thus proving my point. Math never lies!

One of the reasons I posted the question was more out of hidden curiousity from another webite. At another website, using the age of 99 is commonly used by Pro Dommes. It is an easy way to search for a Pro Domme on that site. That is not the case on Collarme. Or at least I have not found it to be. But I am curious so I had ask :)

Now as to can I debate FemDom Reasoning? Certainly I can. Will I be right? Will I be wrong? Now that just depends on who you ask. And ironically I do not care if I am right or wrong. Its like sex, the end result is not the most fun. The foreplay leading up the end result, is so sweet :)
