Of course, I could fly over and escort you in cuffs as my prisoner enroute to the Bruin Cottage Penitentiary. They may not then insist you travel as carry on baggage.

theres a delicious irony to this topic.  we share all sorts of crazy stuff on our profiles and yet the term, 'willing to relocate' strikes some people as a big red flag - ive had creepier suggestions made to me frankly.

i dont think it's weird when people are able to relocate. it doesn't automatically mean that they're creepy or don't have a job or don't do anything, just that what they do is flexible. like if they telecommute, they could sort of live anywhere. or if they have a home-based business, or a job with flexible/available transfers. or an easily marketable skill and plenty of money to move around and set up shop elsewhere.

but if the "willing to relocate" box isn't checked, don't assume a person WILL relocate for you.

A couple of things:

All you said is that it 'keeps popping up on profiles' - are we supposed to magically infer that you mean in the text and not using the option that is *specifically labelled* willing to relocate?

That's a perfectly reasonable assumption based on the information you gave - if it was an incorrect one then it's due to a badly-worded OP.

If its dubious, why are you persisting? Dont like the topic, dont post. But, if you bother to actually read the whole thread, you will notice on page 1.... yes.. page 1 where I admitted to my error and thanked someone for pointing it out in a very straight forward manner.

I said dubious thread, not dubious OP. You kind of disappeared from it before it started to irritate me.

I saw that post - but you're the only person who changed your stance even slightly. I really wasn't talking about you. Well done for attempting to make everything about you, though.

My only objection to the relocating question is when someone tells me they are ready to relocate to my location and then is brazen enough to demand the price for an airline ticket First Class to boot..... That definately raises a Red Flag for me.

Hmm, IronBear what if a woman held a white flag out and said, but Sir I always wanted to see Australia , could you please fly me coach? Would that be brazen? Just a thought, but i know I would never muster up the nerve to do so. Late hubby and I talked often about going there. Awesome country that you get to enjoy.

In on a serious note if a person requesting to relocate comes with red flags, that it is what it is. The essence of relocating still remains the same neutral. The person attach to it can make it into a positive or neutral.

I think those that think its creepy for a Dom to put 'willing to relocate' in his profile just don't think its dominant enough. Its not demanding enough for some
If someone continually writes to you about wanting to relocate then that's different and I for one would be suspicious but for a Dom to mention in his profile, to a world wide audience no less', that he is willing to move, then he's doing himself a big favor because he's immediately eliminating a certain mindset that he probably wouldn't be looking at twice in the first place.

Nope. She, like many other people find your Aristotle tactics tiresome. If your Logos, Pathos and Ethos were more affirmed into something we, me, possibly others felt you were grounded in, you would be better received. Nevertheless you switch up one lil instrument form the next, arguing without much substance or grounded belief and/or from a place the stems from arrogance and broad sweeping judgments, leaving you to be perceived as an antagonist for the sake of antagonism. You will find that most folks here are more likened to Marcus Aurelius Antoninus and have looked at the thing for what it is and see it as such.

YMMV

And I'm all about being better received. Surely you can tell that from my intricate and exhaustive profile.

You are clearly trying to say something, but your pseudo-intellectual blather obscures all meaning.
