i really like online play. i have not even had full intercourse real life (im 19) and online stuff is a way 4 me to realsise what i like. i dont like the contempt that a lot of people seem to have. we all have to experiment and learn ! dont diss me just coz im young and not experienced.

i think its wrong though to say that things cant be enforced. the other person can always end it and thats pretty powerful. the sub can take photos of whats done, and write every day: 500 words, 1000 words, 2000 words. it soon adds up to being like a real llife submission (although i have not done with a person yet).

If you are into online relationships and it works in your life, then that's great. But to say that it is the same as real life is like saying playing a driving video game is that same as getting in a real car. No matter how you cut it, there is no way I can get the same sensation of a women spanking me off of a computer.

Ummmm, I hate to ruin your illusion, but it's not even close to the sensations of real life submission.

Write all the essays you want, but it's not the same as being tied naked to a St. Andrews cross and being flogged, whipped, or paddled by a real live Dom/Domme (while 50 other people in the dungeon watch you receive your lashes).

Rubbing your clit in front of the webcam for your on-line Master isn't even in the same ballpark as having your hair yanked by your real-life Master who is riding you like a bucking bronco as he f**ks your brains out from behind, and then forces you to lick his cock clean afterwards.

Taking photos of the nice knot that you tied around your own wrist doesn't begin to compare to being completely tied up and suspended in the air as your Master inspects (and tickles) your naked body that hangs before him.

You're basically saying that playing "Punch Out" on your Wii is the same as going 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.  It's easy to make that argument when you haven't actually stepped into the ring with Tyson.  But once Iron Mike punches you in the face, you'll quickly realize that the electronic version is a pale shadow of the real thing.

I can understand people who say that they enjoy on-line submission.  I have no argument with those people.  But I take great exception to anyone who tries to argue that on-line is "like real life submission".  On-line submission and real-life submission are not even in the same ballpark.  Heck, they're not in the same galaxy.

Online Play.. is it worth it?

I met my partner online. He lived in England and I live in Canada. Six months ago he moved here after coming to visit a few times. Unexpectedly, an online meeting turned into a real life relationship and yes I would have to say it was very much "worth it

quote:

Its purely based in fantasy and that can be both good and bad but is it really worth it.

I do not think that it was purely fantasy. I carried out orders he gave me.

quote:

Everything you have a submissive do , he is doing to himself.  The only pressure he is under is that of a web cam person and the clock on the wall. Its missing that in person interaction which is the best. Also can you really trust what the other says and does.

Well if you are looking at only the physical side of bdsm then yes it is just the submissive doing stuff to him or herself but there is more to submission than just being able to take a spanking

I am not going to even attempt to claim that online is the same as being physically together. In fact my entire relationship took a dangerous heave as adjustments were made and it almost ended before it even started. Things are different. Still I believe that the online component was wonderful and allowed me to explore my mind. The many hours spent in meaningful communication allowed us to understand each others inner workings more.

It's not worth it to me because I can't emotionally invest in someone I've never met in RL, which makes their commands meaningless to me. Now, if I already had a RL relationship with this person, then I'd consider playing online if we were apart for a while. But I have no interest whatsoever in any type of online only D/s relationship.

I think whether or not it's worth it depends on what you're doing and what you're looking for. If you get what you're looking for, that's the important thing.

In my experience, any sort of cybersex or casual online BDSM play with strangers has proved to be futile. Any enjoyment I had when trying that was outweighed by the frustration of trying to find people who were any fun.

I don't have anything against starting a relationship online. Though personally, I'd prefer not to commit seriously to someone without knowing them in person and being able to spend time with them.
