I completely agree with Troll's original post.

It seems to take my pets a while to figure out that unless I ask for help or for someone else to do it, I'm more than content to do it myself and chances are good that means to simply stay out of the way. Some people around me just never learn that unfortunately. Although I do certainly appreciate the thought and the effort when they wish to help, I tend to be a very stubborn and self sufficient individual.

That also means, unless I've asked them to do something, I'm happy for them to just sit back and relax. I'm a dom, not a slave driver on a plantation. If I decide I want to go out and buy my pet something nice, I'm doing it because I damn well please. Not out of any sense of needing to, but thoroughly out of wanting to. If I'm cooking dinner, I'm doing so because I happen to enjoy it, not because my pet doesn't know how, or isn't good enough. So just sit down and rest and enjoy dinner. Don't over-think things.

Thankfully I'm the type of submissive that has tons of self confidence. I do not feel that I don't deserve good things because I'm a 'lowly submissive'. I also do not have the need to subscribe to incredibly strict roles laid out by other people. It is not my place to tell any dominant man it was inappropriate behavior to cook me dinner or give me a gift. Who am I to dictate who he can and cannot be within our relationship?

Seriously...I would think that when looked at with an open mind and heart, "...because I say/said so" could be comforting. We often think of service as "doing something" but if you are sitting at the command of your dominant, then are you not indeed "serving Him/Her" in the manner requested?

The bold took me the longest time and was the hardest part of actually submitting for me to learn. I think it has to do with the whole job security thing. If the Man Unit is going to take on my tasks what's left for me to do? I did get over it eventually when I figured out it really was *his* way or the highway.

The 'my way or the highway' is truly the only sort of M/s dynamic I can comfortably wrap my head around. I just had to get used to being with someone who meant it.

How well would some appreciate it when meeting a guy who means it about something less than appealing or "soft". The "My way or the highway" love would no doubt turn into..This guy is an asshole!
