No, you're not the only one! I crush stupendously on this guy, but he doesn't post that often. Anyway, he doesn't know me, and I'm not a poly. I even have found my dream boy already, you know? it's just that I always crush on people. But yes, I so know what you mean.

I think there are a lot of reasons people do not act on a crush. The number one is obvious incompatibility. I am poly but if a woman has loudly exclaimed she isn't and never could be.....why bother? If a woman hates being around men.....I live with one so why bother? If a woman has children and isn't local.........kids have a baby daddy making logistics an issue.............why bother? If she lives thousands of miles away and cannot/will not relocate for ANY reason........why bother? If a woman is primarily kink oriented and I am primarily power exchange/service oriented...........why bother? If a woman enjoys an active night life, big city fun, getting involved in a local BDSM community........why bother? If she is hugely allergic to furry creatures, I have too many....but why bother?

I may be one arrogant, I think I am awesome, bossy bitch, but just because I think someone is awesome and the idea of having a thing thing with them gives me the tinglies............I am not so arrogant to assume. being with me is going to be enough for them over the long haul, if we don't fit in some pretty basic ways.

Pretty much what LT said (apart from the bossy bitch bit).

I think of "crush" as having two interpretations - one is an overwhelming, often immature, open desire for someone; the other is a strong but secret desire. I have the second sort of crush for a few girls here but I do nothing, mainly for the LT reasons.

Of course I have the first sort of crush for a stack of CM girls; but none of them seems to want to sleep with me. It's a cruel world.

Due to the fact of my being monogamous, and due to the fact of my being deeply involved with a submissive lady these days, I am not of the same mind set as before, when I was not involved. There is another lady who frequents the message boards whom at one time did gain my attention, to the degree that I begin to think of her quite often, and was more than interested in becoming acquainted with her. Although geographical distance hindered our meeting. I did not inform her of my thoughts of her. I chose to remain quiet instead. I do not define my interest as a crush per se. Instead I determine my interest to have been of a different nature, one that successfully gained my all too frequent career focused attention.

The lady I am involved with now flirted with me for a period of time, only to one day gain my attention through sheer persistence. Indeed, she claimed to have had a crush for a long period of time, right in my presence I might add. Interesting how certain people attract to one another, unknowingly at times.

I suppose I am rather unassuming when related to crushes. I must say, a crush reminds me of years past in school days, prior to my university days. I have not thought of myself as crushing on a lady. I have though been rather smitten a time or two, as I am currently with a certain special lady in my daily Life, unexpectedly so.
