There's been arguing on the boards before about the slant of the news departments. Many times in this forum (P and R), FOX News is often slammed as being from the right while MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. are held up as being "neutral". In August 2009, ABC anchor Charles Gibson complained how “protesters brought pictures of President Obama with a Hitler-style mustache to a town hall meeting,” failing to mention that the signs were produced by Lyndon LaRouche’s wacky fringe movement, not the Tea Party or conservatives. ..."one" protest sign drew a cross-hairs over a picture of Governor Walker’s head, with the caption “Don’t Retreat, Reload; Repeal Walker” — an obvious parallel to a Facebook map posted by Sarah Palin last year, although that much-criticized graphic placed the target sights on maps of congressional districts, NOT any politician’s face.(Bold, italics, capitalization mine) Yet NONE of these signs in the hands of liberal protesters have drawn the SLIGHTEST complaint from morning and evening news stories, segments and anchor briefs on the Wisconsin protests from Thursday, February 17 (when they first drew major national coverage) through Monday, February 21. While eight of the 53 stories (15%) visually displayed one or more of the signs described above, none elicited a single remark from the network correspondents. Let's examine the image the right wing blogs have been freaking out over, the Walker as Hitler poster. [image]local://upfiles/36489/49FE9DC336EA4639884B6DBF0ED2731E.jpg[/image] Note the position of the hand of the person holding the poster. Notice the distance between the sign holder and the crowd in the background. The question is why does FNC think people are so damn stupid as to believe that sign is being held up by someone not the camerman? Then look at the picture of the same poster in the OP's post. Note here the poster is held over the face of the "protestor." Wonder why the outraged right wing photographer asked the subject to pose rather than taking a casual photo?

~chuckles~ I KNEW it would happen...and it did not take long. Of COURSE, it had to be Republican hands on the signs. Oddly enough...and you can bet they would have said so if they could have proven it...the network commentators and the print reporters never said anything like that.

Why would that be so? I remember those 'liberal commentators' scolding the liberals for interrupting the Republican national convention until it was later found out that those who caused the commotion were actually republicans. Hey, the breaks ain't always gonna fall your way.

This story was floating around a week or so back, it kinda fell apart when it turned out the pictures of hitler-signs etc were staged. Fairly pathetic really.
